what happens when you are on the pill, but you travel in different time zones? do you take the pill at the same time, but in that time zone? how does one adjust for this to keep the pill effective? thanks!
ok, so for example: if i take it at 7pm my time zone and i travel somewhere like, one hour ahead of my time (8pm there, 7pm here), i would take it 8pm there time?
it just gets confusing. because like, when i travel from west to east coast, my sleeping patterns, etc., change a bit.
yes, exactly. If you live in California and take your pill at 6 pm there, you'd take it at 9 pm when you're in New York (because that's equal to 6 am in California).
Have you considered switching to NuvaRing or the patch? That way you wouldn't have to worry about time at all. If you travel that much, it might be worth it.
damnit my fiance was right! how does he know more about the damn pill then i do?!?! i've been taking for 2 years. and we're each other's first. he tends to out smart me alot..is that a good thing? lol
I either compensate by moving the time I take the pill from, say, 3 to 4 (if I am traveling somewhere an hour behind me), or don't worry about the change, as a combo pill's effectiveness won't really be compromised by a few hours. If it's a huge jump (like US to UK), then I move my pill time an hour each day until I leave for the trip so that I can take the pill at a convenient time. Hope that makes sense!
i'm confused with the moving your pill time and hour each day for a US to UK trip. well, next month luckily i'm only going somewhere an hour difference, so i'm sure i'm fine there. but in october, i'll be doing the 3 hour difference.
and i'm sure i'll be doing a bigger change then that sometime. ahhh!
I'm a pro at this time zone thing. My boyfriend lives in the UK and i live in California, so i know how this works. What i always do is what the girls told you above. I just take my pill at the normal time i would in california. I normally take my pill at 10pm california time, which is 6am england time. So at 6am, i take my pill when i'm in england. I've pretty much adjusted my schedule so that i have a time that works for me when im in england and when i'm in california.
ok, so pretty much--- i live in seattle and i take my pill at 7pm so i should always take my pill at 7pm pacific standard time anywhere i go, and i'm in the clear?
well damn then...thats much easier then i thought it would be and if you're doing it between CA and UK, and you aren't pregnant, then i guess thats what works! :) thanks so much!
