Aug. 7th, 2003 11:52 pmThe post about the age of onset of menstruation getting lower and lower in our society, and everyone sharing the age that they started, reminded me of something interesting and bizarre that I thought I'd share with everyone else.
I first got my period at age 12 years, 9 months old. Twelve and nine are divisible by three. It was three months away to my thirteenth birthday, which would be the third month of 1997, three years before the turn of the century. There are three females in my immediate family, and we all know the close presence of other girls can affect one's menstrual cycle. Then, last year, which was the sixth year (six is divisible by three) since my first period, I started to get it every three weeks. That has continued into this year, 2003, and now I usually bleed for three days, give or take a day afterwards of light spotting, but I don't count that because it ruins the coincidence. :)
Cool, no? (And I even unconciously divided this post into three paragraphs...!)
