Plan B and Pregnancy

I know I'm being slightly paranoid because I watched the movie Knocked Up last night, but I'm really worried that I'm pregnant.

I had unprotected sex on April 21(2am), took Plan B on the 22nd (12noon.) Got my last period April 29th. It was the heaviest period I've experienced in my entire life. I had unprotected sex June 1 (12:30am.) Took Plan B on June 2nd (9am, so about 32 hours later.) I was on Day 33 of my cycle when I had the sex and day 34 when I took the pills.

I know that Plan B can delay when a period comes, but it is possible that I could be pregnant? I experienced some spotting briefly yesterday, and I've had these weird menstural cramps on and off since I've taken the pills. But I'm also wondering if my period is late (and may potentially be lighter) because I took Plan B two months in a row.

I know Plan B is not birth control (I am getting my IUD, conveniently enough, during my next period), but I'm afraid that I could be that small percent chance of being pregnant.

Help?

typically a woman ovulates 14 days after the first day of her period[this is based on a 28 day cycle]. it can vary depending on your average cycle length. so based on that, it's unlikely that you are, in fact, pregnant.

Plan B is effective up to 2 hours after the instance of unprotected sex.


However; if you are taking Plan B regularly, you should consider a regular form of birth control. There are many different options out there.

Its a slim chance, you could do a pregnancy test...someone else may be able to tell you when they can detect. The more likly answer is you are stressing enough to delay it. Once when I was on HBC I was so stressed my Sunday period didn't show at all till Wed. I was completely freaked.

Hooray IUD, I <3 my Paraguard welcome to the club. Sidenote and IUD has been approved as emergency contraceptive. You could have walked into the clinic & had them insert it it would prevent implantation.

I figured that my stress is probably only making this worse!

I would have called my gynocologist right then to have the IUD put in, but inconveniently the afternoon of the first I went away on vacation that week with my mom, aunt, and uncle :( I didn't want to worry them or cancel plans, so that morning I bought the Plan B. I didn't take it right away in the hopes that maybe my period would come that day or something.

Sometimes I really feel like my body is some sort of hormonal experiment that you are grouping in the dark trying to get the results that you want. I would try to calm down take a test and get your IUD...I love mine just for the lack of stress involved in my birth control.

The Paragard IUD is awesome. I have a similar IUD (copper slimline TT380 - small U.K IUD) and love it. I'm having a period atm and it's not half as bad as most people would have led me to believe.

i had to take plan b two months in a row before i got on birth control, and the 2nd month i took it delayed my period..it delayed it at least 2-3 weeks from when i was suppose to get my period.. it was such a relief to finally get it, but i know i was stressed out for those last 2 weeks because of the freaking out that i might be

I don't have any good advice, but I also have been influenced by the movie Knocked Up! lol. oh the affects Hollywood can play on someone! :-P
