Lately I've been really dry in my vagina and it itches inside, anyway. I was in the shower washing myself, I went to scratch myself, well rub. I felt acouple bumps inside of me up in the side. Help?! Please don't freak me out with stds.

Dry and itchy sounds like a possible yeast infection, from all I've read on VP. I'd get that checked out. (Other possible causes include allergies.) Bumps inside... could be perfectly normal variation in the vaginal wall? Or do you mean under the flesh?

My vagina doesn't feel completely smooth - it never has. There are little ridges and bumps and variations that seem to have always been there. I remember once I felt what I've concluded is the opening of my cervix and it felt bumpy and puckery and strange and I was kind of freaked out until I realized that's probably what it was. But itchiness and changes in texture could be symptoms of a YI - my vulva always looks and feels differently when I've got one.

Your vagina isn't supposed to be smooth or anything - it naturally has bumps and ridges throughout.

But, if you never noticed these before or if they're causing you discomfort/pain, go to a doctor for a pelvic exam, STD test, and/or physical to rule out anything and everything.

to me this sounds like a simple yeast infection. you can try to treat it like one using monistat from your local drug/grocery store.

Im not sure about the bumps. theres natural bumps and variations in the skin inside a vagina and it sounds like if you were scratching or rubbing its quite possible you could have irritated that spot and now they seem really inflamed or raised up.

From what I can tell, I get occasional bumps on my cervix. I am at no risk for any STI's, and I check my cervix almost daily as part of FAM. I want to think that the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" mentions that occasional bumps are normal, but I'm not absolutely certain on that one. The bumps come and go and I've never asked anyone about them and I'm not really worried about it. But, I'll probably bring it up when the occasion presents itself, just to be sure.

Did you just notice them, or have they been there for as long as you can remember? Have any of them gone way? Without knowing these things, it's kind of hard to know if they are natural features of your vaginal canal or something more serious.
