Hi everyone : )

In looking to purchase my second sex toy, I realized that I really have no good way to store them discreetly. The toy that I currently own is small, so it's easy to hide. The one I'm going to get is bigger (though not "huge") so I want to find a cute, discreet way to store them. I looked around at many sex toy sites, and found lots of options. I do have a few questions though. This site offers a little satin bag, that's cheap, and they claim that it's not safe to house multiple toys in the same package, which is why they sell the bag as a toy separation product. Is that really necessary?

Basically, I want to know if it's really not a good thing to house both of my toys in the same bag.
Also, has anyone ordered from that site before? Was it good, bad, or what?
Last question, how do you house your toys?

EDIT: The verdict seems to be that yes, it's a good idea to store toys separately. I'm still interested in how you all store yours. I also found some cute cosmetic bag type things on The Container Store's website, all very inexpensive. Check out the Travel section. I ended up ordering something from there, what's advertised as a Train Box. It has a few different compartments, so I think it will work out well. Thank you everyone for your help.

i've seen some chests\boxes\cases for storing sex toys on this site but really any container would do as long as it's not clear you could get clear if you want but i'm guessing for discreet purposes a non clear one is easier!

i'm sure if you shop around you can find lots of similar boxes or chests that aren't marketed as a sex toy box but can definitely be used!

Well, I don't I can explain it any better than it says on the site you linked to...

When some adult product materials come in contact with one another a reaction such as "melting" may occur, resulting in permanent damage to the product.

I have, and it made me a sad panda, mainly because I had to clean it up! One was a weird dildo of unknown composition from our pre-Feeldoe days, and the catalyst was a tiny little vibrating ring. The toy box looked like something had died in it.

Each toy now gets the decidedly downmarket treatment of being placed in It's own freezer-bag, then put back in the toy box.

I haven't had toys specifically melt, but I have had various other items made of some of the same materials as some toys are, "melt" together. It does happen. Chemical reactions in the materials, ya know?

Whether or not toys will melt when placed next to one another depends on what they are made out of. Plastic, glass, silicone, metal, and wood toys won't melt if touching anything other than fire, but jelly, rubber, elastomer, et cetera toys do have a tendency to react chemically with one another and cause melting.

Glass toys I always store in seperate bags to reduce the risk of them bumping into each other & making a lot of noise or breaking.

This a problem with jelly toys specifically, huzzah for random, unknown chemicals! If your toys are hard plastic, medical grade silicone, glass or steel there isn't that risk (though I'd keep a glass toy separatly wrapped to prevent chipping). You could always make nice lined cloth bags with random scrap fabric, or buy a little chest from a home decor store.

I store mine in ziplocs (to keep dust and cat fur away) and then in a little duffle bag in the closet, but I live with only my partner so privacy isn't an issue. I have had to keep them off my bedside table since moving because we've been giving lots of tours of the house to family and friends and that might be awkward.

I heard that it was silicone (http://www.babeland.com/sexinfo/features/buy-silicone-sex-toys?utm_source=briefs20080703&utm_medium=email) toys that melted like that. I'm not for sure though.

I have a large plastic tupperware that's clear but I covered it in pokemon stickers. :) All my toys are just regular old plastic or glass (I don't think there's any chance of melting??) I just put them in together, but I keep my lubes seperately in my dresser.

I couldn't find anything decent to put mine it, with a lock (well, in the budget), so I ended up making myself a large "jewelry" box, with a decorative padlock and a false bottom to hide the key in. It sounds like over-kill, but I have kids who always seem to find my "neck massagey things" and run down the batteries ... and my mother keeps on coming over and putting my washing away and finding them too.

No concept of privacy, the people in my life. LOL.

I've never heard of the melting thing before though, and generally I've just shoved them all somewhere together. Where I bought them though, they always tell me to take the batteries out when not in use ... and I have to admit that since I've been doing that the life of the toy is twice as long (I don't mean the battery life, I mean the actual toy itself). I don't know how that works out, but I'm not complaining.

Well, mines not tiny but it's not very big either. I've had it for about 5 years and I have always kept it in a glasses case. Most vibes probably wouldn't fit in a case that size, but mine fits perfectly and the inside is nice and smooth since it's made for keeping glasses safe and everything. Plus I have always kept it right next to my bedside and nobody has ever known anything about it...they just figure it's for my glasses!

i keep mine in a plastic file box, with hanging files in it. the toys go in zip loc bags to keep out the fluff. i used to file thing in there too, (paid bills etc) but then we got a shredder :)

I'm a Pure Romance consultant. One could say I specialize in toys. ;)

The melting thing is true, and storing them apart is necessary.
If you're looking for something cute I sell Hide a Vibe (http://www.pureromance.com/EC_ProductView.aspx?categoryID=26&pid=1038) pillows. Those seem to be a big hit.

I found a breadbox-sized box I think was originally intended for makeup, or jewelry. It locks, it's pink, and when you open the lid these shelves fan out--and each shelf is conveniently dildo-sized! In the larger, bottom area of the box, I store my lubes, restraints, and extra batteries. Works very well.

For most of my toys, I have a plastic tub, and I wrap them all in a paper towel each and dump them in together. (The paper towel is then used to set them on instead of on the bed itself, after use and before gathering them up to rinse off in the sink. Fresh paper towel wraps them again till next time...) An old baby blanket covers the tub's top.

I had this HUGE box that some boots of mine came in and I put my toy in it, along with another shoe box and some shopping bags. I stored it at the top of my closet and my mom was not the wiser....UNTIL....I left my toy by the side of my bed one day and I was in SUCH a rush to get to school...

I forgot my pencil pouch and had to call my mom to bring it to school...she ended up finding the toy but she didn't confront me about it until a week or two afterwards.

"Why didn't you tell me you wanted one? We could have picked one out together."

Riiight...

Two weeks later, "THROW THAT THING AWAY!! YOU DON'T NEED IT!!"

I'm not much of a toy person (at least not vibe or dildo kinda toys), but I got a cute box that I think was intended for maybe jewelery or silverware or something at a discount store (BigLots/TJMaxx, I can't remember). It's got little inset separated bits that you can shuffle around, and otherwise it's covered in black and red asian-looking print satin. It just has a little frog closure, though. No lock. But it works really well for keeping all my lubes and paddles and (now unused) condoms and whatnot. It's vaguely the size of a loaf of bread and I think cost me about $15.
