I have hooked up with a female friend of mine for the past two nights in a row, including receiving oral sex. Yesterday morning my vagina became really inflamed, swollen, red, itchy, painful, and the topmost part, above the clitoris, burns if I touch or move it. I have no mysterious discharge or burning when I pee. Do you have any idea what this might be? I know I need to go to a doctor but it's ten on Sunday and I'm a little screwed.

she could have eaten something your body didn't like, keep it clean and it should get better if it's just an allergic reaction

That's most likely a urinary tract infection. I've had several before, they're pretty common. Just see your doc as soon as you can and he/she will prescribe an antibiotic if it is that, but don't wait for very long because the symptoms only get worse and can turn into a kidney infection but no worries, they are very common.

I've had one where there was no burning at all. Just back pain and the frequent urination.

I realize, was just responding to the bit about pain. And ouch does that sound like it sucks. Really, really sounds like an allergic reaction.

Sorry, I thought it said it did burn when you pee. I had burning and inflammation of my labia with my UTI but nevermind on that! Sorry!

I'm voting allergic reaction also...another possible source other than what she ate was if you used any toys or lubes, or if she had lotion of some sort on her hands.

It could be the start of a yeast infection. Its not uncommon for a lot of women to come down with them after receiving oral sex. But if your vulva is *really* swollen like you mentioned above its probably a good idea to go to a doctor and get a diagnosis before attempting to treat it yourself.

Another thing that occurred to me- did you use a dental dam or similiar barrier? A latex allergy could also cause the irritation and swelling. So could various lubes. Could anything like that be a factor?

Could be yeasties, maybe. I've gotten them after humpathons with a lot of oral sex and manual stimulation. I've also had reactions to oral sex when someone had eaten eggplant earlier (which I'm horribly allergic to).

If your friend had some yeasties (might not have any symptoms), and your hands were back and forth, that plus irritation from a lot of play could've nailed you.

I'd say hit the PP. Get yourself sorted out. Until then, some cool unsweetened yogurt helps calm things down. It's good for yeast, and even if that's not the culprit, it's soooooothing. And beneficial for your vaginal flora in general. I just slather some on and wear a pair of cotton underwear I don't care about.

Was she rough or were you at it for a long time? Sometimes I feel sore the next day even though I had no pain during. After the doctors visit report back, it's good to know these things.

I can't say much of use -- I'm in the "treat with un-flavored (not even vanilla!), unsweetened yogurt" camp -- but I love the descriptive subject line you came up with.

I find that if I go from even a week with now sex just one night of some oral sex can make me sore, especially so if I am expecting my period soon. It would depend on your personal level of lubrication and 'roughness' of your partner.

I have also had some allergic reaction type swellings after my partner ate something I was allergic to, and after some spicy food.

To sooth the burning itching pain I took a bottle of plain saline (not the contact kind but the kind with no chemicals) and squirted it over my labia while standing in the shower (messy). Make sure not to squirt it up inside yourself.

Thank you for the laugh your title gave me. Awesome.

As for the itching, did you do anything, uh, vigorous enough to cause a carpet-burn type situation? The skin may be chaffed if that's the case. But that's all I've got. Everyone else's ideas sound better. :-)
