Thanks to all who helped me out from my last post.
I went to the walk-in clinic and the doctor who was there was actually a doctor from emerg, so that was good.
He said thats definatly what it is but he is used to seeing the grapefruit sized ones that come into emergemcy. He then told me that perhaps I'm the smart one that came in before it got huge, lol.
He gave me anti-biotics and said to take those and do sitz baths but if it gets any bigger to go to emerg.
He hopes because it was caught early that the antibiotics will do it.

Date: 2008-09-07 04:23 pm (UTC)For me the only thing that made them go away was being drained. One (the one that came back) ruptured (while i was sleeping and it woke me up, i immediately felt better) and drained (in the tub)on its own. It actually did that the day before i was supposed to go have it drained! Good thing too because i was super panicked about it. The other was surgically drained. They've said if i get another one they are removing those glands, EEK!
I just wanted to give you a heads up that it is a possibility you may need to get it drianed anyway.
Just keep an eye one it and make sure you take the baths, let it breath (do the no pants dance!) and take some ibuprofen to help with inflammation.
I feel for you! For like a week and a half I basically slept was carried to the tub immediately after waking up and once i was in there my BF would give me painkillers and then it was back to bed once i felt the meds kicking in. repeat.
good luck!
