Hydrogen Peroxide Douche

So, for the past few weeks I've been with a new sexual partner. We've decided to fluid bond- I was on the pill and I'm good with fertility awareness, so I let him ejaculate inside me. However, I noticed after he did so, I smelled like a fish market- typical sign of BV, right?

I don't really do the whole 'doctor' thing when I can avoid it, so I'm turning to hydrogen peroxide and water douches, which I've heard nothing but good things about for clearing up BV. The question is, how often should I use it? Much of what I read is that it cleared up "immediately" so should I just do the once?

How many days has it been? I always smell horrible for a couple of days after my SO ejaculates inside me. So much so, in fact, I just told him that I wanted him to pull out for safety reasons - I didn't feel like going over the whole "yeah, I smell down there when you do that." Then I got an IUD :-p yeah, had to explain it to him, and he thought it was hilariously funny :-D

I'm honestly considering that approach until I get Implanon- past experiences have proved to me that I'm pretty fertile anyway.

The smell generally lasts a day with me- which wouldn't be a problem if I didn't run around half naked a lot. I didn't smell when I douched but I would love to get rid of whatever causes it if at all possible.

What I do is do a very light douche with water after sex. It rinses everything out, and it's just water - I've been wanting to switch to vinegar water to help things out. I think at a day it is just the semen, if you aren't having any other symptoms.

Yeah, I agree with this -- if it only lasts for the day after sex, then I'd suspect it's just old semen rather than BV. Ejaculate in the vagina almost always leads to a rank fishy smell the next day or so for me, and from other posts on VP I'd say that's pretty common. Kegeling out as much semen as I can right after sex helps somewhat.

Like the first commenter said, I think it's pretty normal to smell after your SO ejaculates inside. For me, it's a really nasty mix of fish and brie cheese. I actually can't eat brie anymore because smelling it reminds me of how I smell after sex... not so good LOL

I'd do a quick lil rinse with just water. Peroxide douches won't do any harm (your vagina makes a form of peroxide naturally), though, so if you'd feel better doing that after sex then by all means... though I personally would be hesitant to do it TOO often.
