Nuva ring, in or out?

I'm on the nuva ring...my boyfriend hates it and says he can feel it during sex....

the doctor said that the ring can stay out 3 hours at a time so I've been taking it out before sex and putting it back in right away after.

Safe, or no?

I mean its not like its a female condom blocking anything, its really more so of the chemicals that it releases inside.

i always take it out before messing around (fingering/sex) when i'm done wiping/cleaning off i rinse off the ring and put it right back in. i rinse/put back in even before the after-sex-cuddling just to be safe. havent had any scares or prblems and i've been on nuva ring for 4 years
