the tongue thing isnt bad at all. Clamps have been the worst part for most of the ones i have tried (or watched. My friend is a professional so i have seen some pretty... creepy ones done). After the clamp its a quick poke, but the worst part is the pop sound you hear :P
I think it takes more balls to get your hood done (which is what im considering doing with my birthday money... been wanting to for about 2 years now :P)
