Who pays for BC?

vaginapaginaOk so I've been thinking about this for a while, but the condoms post gave me the courage to ask.
I personally take loestrin 24fe. It's pretty expensive without prescription coverage.
I was thinking...would it be totally inappropriate for me to ask my BF to help me pay for it? I mean we've been together for 5 years, and I've just always paid for it without thinking. I make my own money and I can afford it but he is getting some benefit out of it, know what I mean?!? I honestly don't think he realizes how much it costs to keep our relationship baby free.
Soooo do any of you out there split the BC bill?!? Or, if you use condoms, do you take turns buying them?
