Hey ladies!
On early Friday morning I started my first period after stopping Depo Provera in March. I have had some spotting and random heavy bleeding since stopping Depo, but I'm 99.9% sure this is actual mentruation. I felt particularly PMS-y before hand, have had cramps (which I did not have during the random bleeding), and the bleeding is following the pattern that my periods usually did before I started Depo.
Anyway, after that background...the bleeding has been quite heavy. Heavy enough that yesterday I had to change the overnight pads I was using every two hours, sometimes less than that. I remember my periods prior to Depo being heavy in the first couple of days, but not that bad. I only had mild cramping accompanying the bleeding yesterday, and I've only seen a couple of clots. The bleeding is better today, but not by much...I still have to change my pad every three hours or so. So my question is, is this ok? I remember reading somewhere that as long as you weren't soaking through a maxi pad every hour and/or passing clots larger than a golf ball that everything was ok. Despite this, if the bleeding goes on heavily like this for more than a couple more days, should I make a visit to the doctor?
Thanks so much in advance!
