I just found an article about a post HIV exposure treatment at motherjones.com. According to the article the treatment is given as soon as possible after exposure to HIV and works to stop the virus from actually spreading in the body. It is mostly reserved for healthcare professionals who are exposed to HIV in medical accidents. I find it fascinating that there is a treatment available to help prevent HIV from taking hold if a person has been exposed, yet it is not made readily available to the general public in all areas.
I'm wondering what kind of protest/mass action could be done to influence the availability of this treatment. Ideas?
