Same-sex sex sure helps me avoid pregnancy, as does the use of various toys. Not being snarky, actually: "creative" sex gets to be very fun-focused without the gambles of PIV. When my bits get near opposite-sex bits (and here I'm using "sex" to connote gonad configuration rather than social and emotional identity), I'm a big fan of wrapping relevant bits in a nice impermeable barrier and salving it with something like Hydra-Smooth. Come to think of it, that works for everything else that might be insertable.
