It certainly could be the ring. They say that the side effects stop or lessen after three months, so if you can stand to wait that long it might be worth a shot to stick with it for awhile.
I'd urge you to keep a close eye on your moods though...I spent three years on the nuvaring before I realized it was contributing to my depression. :/
