has anyone read Spiritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin?. today i took it off my shelf to brouse a bit and was reminded of it's beauty.

also i just want to express how much i appreciate this community. I don't often post, but i learn so much great stuff reading people's posts. thanks everyone for making it a hoppin' community.

That book cracks me up. The material is so fascinating and so incredibly dated at the same time, how childbirth's so psychedelic and stuff.

The Farm, though - the commune that they all live in - has been invaluable for the rest of the vegan/vegetarian community, because here's this all-vegan community that can be used as a control group to debunk all sorts of stupid veg*n myths (like kids don't thrive on a vegan diet, babies born to vegan mother are sickly, etc.)

I love that book!!!!

i borrowed that book from a friend about a year ago. would love to get my hands on a copy again now as i'm giving birth this may... the stories were beautiful.
