Cramping during Ovulation?

Just a quick question.

Does anyone else here have actual cramping when they ovulate? I'm not talking about the usual ovulation pain, but cramping that feels pretty much like menstrual cramps, but happens when you ovulate.

It seems I have been having this for a good five or so months now and I'm just wondering if anyone else here experiences this?

I'm due to ovulate soon. I'm thinking I ovulated today or will in the next one or two days. I keep track of my cycles.

More than usual cramping could mean perhaps there is something more going on, but that's only from my own experience. I tend to have a lot of abdominal pain, especially during ovulation and I just discovered last week from an ultrasound that I most likely have endometriosis on my ovaries. Maybe you should get it checked out just to be sure?

I get cramping sometimes, too. I think my polycystic ovarian syndrome is back though, so that probably has something to do with it.

I think it's totally within normal. I have cramps that feel like period cramps and I spot at ovulation. Both symptoms have become more frequent with age, but neither indicate anything more ominous (as checked out by my doc).

Go check it out with the doc if it makes you feel better, but I wouldn't worry about it too much if they aren't debilitating and you don't have any other symptoms.

From what I know and what I've heard, it's pretty normal. When you ovulate, the egg is actually bursting through a membrane and sometimes there can be a little blood involved. That blood can irritate surrounding tissues and lead to abdominal pain and cramping.
