I feel really dumb asking this, but how quickly after becoming pregnant, do the sore boobs and morning sickness come?
And what does this morning sickness feel like? I've got cramping, and pain but not so much nausea..

I'm probably freaking over nothing... As far as I can remember, I've been taking my pill on time, and I use a condom every time, but my boobs are sore and I'm feeling funny.. and somethings nagging in me like.. "maybe"

I didn't know where to look to find these answers... I couldn't find my way around the PP website if I tried.. I'm really sorry if this is obvious.. It's my first post here

take a pregnancy test. seriously. it will calm your nerves (especially if you've taken your pill at the same time every day).

Let me check my little red book...

Okay, from the dating, I got pregnant sometime in July (of 1999).
August 16-22, minor spotting. August 23, large clot, thought I'd miscarried. Ha, ha. See also decidual bleeding on Google.

I was running about a degree of "fever" and getting an odd nausea that seemed to center in my nose, of all sensations. I also went off Chinese food then. The nausea got worse and September 1st, after at least 1-2 weeks of this, I went to the doctor and got a heartbeat showing on the ultrasound. Nope, didn't miscarry.

My nausea was not in the morning -- it was actually not so bad then. It got worse through the day and was awful at night. Lasted about 3 or 4 months, and started around a month after conception. By a month and a half or 2 months, certain odors REALLY bothered me (I first threw up at the smell of slightly-rotten grapes, much to my annoyance and disgust).

My mother, on the other hand, gave glowing descriptions of how she never got sick and loved being pregnant. She was 2000 miles away, and safe from being thrown up on.

If you're worried about being pregnant, I'd suggest grabbing a pregnancy test and checking. (They're accurate about 2 weeks after the sex you're concerned about.) The tests are looking for hCG, the pregnancy hormone. Your hormonal birth control pills are lulling your ovaries with estrogen and progesterone (or however that's spelled, augh), which are entirely different -- so you won't get false positives from that.

Good luck!

How long have you been on birth control? Sore boobs are a common side effect the first couple months after starting birth control.

When was the last time you've had sex? If it's been 14 days or longer since then, a pregnancy test should be accurate by now. You can get them at dollar stores and save yourself some money as well.

It sounds very doubtful that you are pregnant.

My symptoms started in mid-July of this past year, which turned out to be about six weeks after I conceived. The ones I remember most clearly early on were nausea (but eating seemed to fix it) and having to pee all the time mostly. I also bled like [livejournal.com profile] archangelbeth for quite awhile, so it fooled me.

Every period is different. Every pregnancy is different too.It would be hard to say if you are or are not. I had sore breasts at nearly every period and terrible diarrhea cramps all the time. I didn't start getting my pregnancy cramps(which for me didnt feel half has bad at real period cramps) until about 4 week into pregnancy. I think i started the nausea about 2-3 weeks in, and it was after my missed period and after i found out I was infact pregnant.
If you are 3-5 days close to your period, go ahead and buy a pregnancy test that can test before periods(i forget off the top of my head what its called, sorry).
But you say you use condoms all the time and that you are on b/c...as long as you have done both religously I honestly doubt your pregnant. But take the test, you'll feel better.
Good luck!

with both of my pregnancies, i've been at least 6 weeks pregnant before noticing any soreness in my boobs. i never had any spotting with either & was never nauseated with either one - just lucky, i guess. i got my positive pregnancy tests at barely 4 weeks with no symptoms - i just *knew* both times. it's really difficult to explain - i just knew.

really, get the pregnancy test. either way, you'll know & you'll be able to relax. all of our local grocery/drug/target/walmart stores just have them right on the shelf... although they are kind of spendy.

good luck! i've been on the other side of the fence too - praying the stick said negative... it's wicked stressful! :)

Sore boobs are more or less a fact of life for most women. My boobs get sore and my nipples are really tender right before and during my period, but sometimes they just do it all on their own.

As for when you'd start experiencing pregnancy symptoms, that varies from woman to woman. Some women suspect/know that they're pregnant even before they miss their period while other women don't have any signs or symptoms until they're into their second trimester and have started to show.

If the cramping and pain you're referring to is in your stomach, it might just be because of anxiety since you're stressing over all of this. I know that I can get pretty sick to my stomach when I'm stressed out and I've even thrown up because of it on a few occasions.

Like everyone else has said, just take a pregnancy test. A lot of brands come in packs of two or three now so get yourself one of those. Then you can test, wait a week, and test again just to be sure that you didn't test too soon with the first test.

If you're on the pill and the condom definitely hasn't broken/come off/etc, then you are not pregnant. Sore boobs can be PMS, and nausea and cramps can be anything.

Have you not been having sex long? I was way more paranoid about getting pregnant when I first had sex than I am now. It's very rare that a birth control method fails when it's used properly - if you take the pill on time and aren't vomiting or taking interfering medications, then it's unlikely it will fail. Unless you notice that the condom has broken or has a hole in it or fell off, it probably didn't fail. And since you're using 2 birth control methods, it's super unlikely that both failed. So take a pregnancy test if it'll make you feel better (if you're near a Dollar Tree, they have cheap tests), but don't stress about it too much.

I had the same thing last week, sore boobs, nausia and the worrying. it was just a stomach bug.

If you take the pill at the same time everyday and use condoms then I'd say its almost a 99.9% chance your not pregnant, I agree with Jenn possible tho, take a test, it'll make you feel better.

((hugs hun))

last week I had almost identical symptoms, and was pretty worried about it myself. sometimes your mind fools your body, I forget the specific term, but the body can respond to your worries with the exact symptoms you don't want to see! turns out it was just PMS, a little dehydration, and not being active enough (winter break=laziness for me). Try doing some exercise, drinking more water, eating healthier ect. and see how you feel. Plus a pregnancy test, that would definitely clear your mind. My bf and I use the same protections as you, so I wouldn't worry too much, as others said, statistically it is very very unlikely. Getting your mind off it wouldn't hurt either.

Luckily, my period came in full force a few days ago, and the symptoms disappeared!
