Okay, I have scoured the tags and the memories and couldn't find anything that explicitly answers my question, so hopefully y'all can help, or at least just confirm what I know/suspect (or point me in the right direction if the answers DO happen to be in the memories/tags and I'm just a spaz and missed them).

So, lubes containing glycerin are not so good for those prone to yeast infections (as glycerin is a sugar, = yeast feeds off of it and flourishes). Correct?

I'm having a little trouble finding info on silicon-based lubes though.
1. ARE THEY or AREN'T THEY safe to use with latex condoms?!?! I keep finding conflicting information and it's kind of annoying me because I can't find a straight answer.
2. Because it's not water-based (and therefore not water-soluble, right?), how would I go about "cleaning up" after using it?
3. I know it's not safe to use with other silicon toys, but what about regular plastic toys?

THANKS VPERS :)

Glycerin can be a trigger for some people. Unfortunately, you can't know for sure until you try and rule out all other possible irritants.

Silicon is safe with latex. Oil-based is not.

I simply wipe up immediately after; a shower/bath/my body's self-cleaning mechanisms later on take care of everything else - I've never had any problem with lingering lube.

Fine to use with non-silicone toys.

From the girl who works in a porn store I have some answers for you.

1)Silicone Lubes are safe to use with condoms.

2)Warm soapy water will clean up Silicone lube.

3)It is safe for use with regular plastic & jelly based toys. Keep it away from any silicone, cyberskin, real skin etc.toys.

I hope this helps :)

If you hunt around, there are some water-based lubes which don't have glycerine in them.

I just wanted to say you should try a natural lube :-) I get this one from Super Supplements by Emerita that I really like. I've been prone to YI's in the past, and it seems to work great, and it's compatible with condoms, though I don't use those myself currently... (IUD)
