Stacking HBC--How Long?

I was wondering what the longest you superstars have gone stacking your HBC. I stacked 4 packs and had a heavier period after, but was wondering if it could be done longer? Has it been done longer? How long have you gone?

I take Seasonale, which means I'm supposed to have a period once every three months, but I've stacked those as well, so I've gone...five months, I'd say. My periods have actually been getting lighter over time, rather than heavier--now when I have one, it's more like 2-3 days of light bleeding.

I do it for months at a time, sometimes I don't keep track, which I know is stupid. But I never suffer any heavier periods or anything, though I did notice that HBC itself makes my period heavier.

The longest I stacked was for 2 months, or so. I experienced a lot of breakthrough bleeding, though, and it was so irritating that I stopped.

I stacked for 2 years. They suspect I have endo, so not having a period was the best option for me.

It's definitely been done for longer! Not only is there a brand of pill being marketed to permanently stop periods (basically like Seasonale, but year-round), but many women with conditions like endometriosis are advised by their health care professional to stack every pack, stopping bleeding entirely. So you can go indefinitely if you choose to do so.

When it was June and I was nineteen my doctor prescibed me hbc continuosly to stop my period because of endo complications. It is now October and I am twenty-five. I have had no periods and no adverse effects. (so far)

It's been done longer, and I'd stack longer if I could. My uterus, however, has other ideas.

I'm in a clinical study for NuvaRing and I have stacked continuously for 16 months. I have not had a period since June '06.

The study ends next month and I was considering switching to fam...but I'm not quite sure what I'll do. It's been nice not having periods.

I was taking Marvellon (am in Australia - don't know what it is elsewhere) and on the advice of my (female) doctor I stacked it for a good couple of years. I had occsional breakthrough bleeding probably every 4 months or so, but other than that I had no side affects.

The male doctor I was also seeing was against the idea and I have noticed this from talking with various friends and medicos - female doctors seem to encourage, and males frown on the practice.

with the execption of one male doctor i would totally agree with your statement. one doctor asked me "don;t you want to know that you are not pregnant by getting your period?" Umm..errr no...i was not sexually active and plus i pointed out to him that the pill *should* protect from pregnancy if i was...that was the last time i saw him....

about 2 years - i got a couple of days of break through a few times but otherwise fine - no nasty period once i stopped either...
