Is that once you have it, you should avoid having sex with anyone who doesn't have it while they have an outbreak. Just because you had sex, while he was almost cleared up does not mean you will have another breakout.
You may have another break out say in 2 months..completely unrelated to tonight, just how the virus works. A breakout only spreads the disease, won't cause another breakout (again, what I gather from info I have read and some of those commercials).
I would recommend you both get on some medication to control the outbreaks, just so you don't have to limit your sex life when one person has an outbreak, because you could have an outbreak for 1 weeks 1 month, not during your period, him 1 week the next month not during your period, and you lose a lot of time to have intimate contact with him.
