I'm admittedly not up for using my own journal, as I'd rather not have some people associated with it come out of the woodwork and bother me about personal matters. So, fear not, I'm not trolling the comm.

Now then, the matter at hand.

I've been regular like clockwork for the last 12 years (I'm currently 21 years old), even with a football sized cyst choking off my ovaries (somehow didn't know about it for 8+ years, since there was hardly any weight gain until meds were given for back issues D: Doctors fail; it was removed in 2003). But in the last year or so, I've started to become incredibly irregular, and, on top of that, my labia minora have gone from mostly symmetrical, to noticeably lopsided; the right is now fleshier and longer than the left. I didn't notice this until about a month or so ago, and it seemed particularly random to find, especially since it's not as if I never am down there regularly. It sort of came out of the blue.

Of course, I've never lived under the delusion that everyone is meant to be symmetrical, and that it's normal to be even on both sides, since obviously it's not, but this development on top of feeling rather foul and having late periods has worried me a little.

So, should I be concerned, or are they completely unrelated issues that have coincidentally popped up at the same time?

My irregular periods were traced to hypothyroidism... But it didn't do things to the inner labia. Odd. I would not treat it as "normal," personally, because it's come on "of a sudden," but I don't know if it'd be related to the irregularities or not. Try to find a doctor who'd at least test you for thyroid and various other irregularity-causing things, and maybe a gyno to make sure that the labia isn't doing something annoying like having a growth?

Good luck.
