I'd have to suggest that "sister sizes" don't work for everyone, though. For instance, I'm a 38DD, and when I try on a 40D (what would be one of my sister sizes), it slips up in back because the band is too loose while the underwires dig into the sides of my breast tissue. And I've not tried on a 36DDD, though I have tried a 36DD, but I imagine the additional room in the cup size would not make up for the painful tightness of the band.
The way I understand it, the concept of sister sizes is more like, "If you usually wear Size X, then Sizes Y and Z may fit you as well or better," than it is, "Sizes X, Y, and Z are totally interchangeable, and it really shouldn't matter which one you buy." Is this correct?
