Has anyone ever gone back on the same method of hormonal BC after a break of several months? I went off the ring after 7 months of use in November due to a serious drop in sex drive during the last half of that time frame, but I'm eager to get back on until I can afford Essure. Anyone have experience with using BC, quitting, then restarting the same method, and if so, what were the differences, if any, in side effects between the first period of usage and the next? (Please don't suggest I try different pills, IUDs, etc. as there are various reasons other hormonal/internal methods don't work for me.)

Also, about Essure: is there any organization that offers financial aid of sorts to people needing money for birth control/sterilization procedures? My insurance covers the doctor's fees, price of the equipment and device, and local anesthesia, but I'm really, really scared of it hurting like hell and want to opt for general, which would cost me quite a bit out-of-pocket. Or does anyone have encouragement for/stories about undergoing the procedure with local only?
