OB Exam on Period?

Quick, simple question. I checked the archives a few times & saw nothing on it really. If I'm wrong, sorry.

But if you're on your period but you have a scheduled annual OB exam (including a pap smear & such) do you reschedule? Or... what? I was going to call my OB's office today (my appt is monday) but my daughter was screaming and fussing all day long & wouldn't nap so I didn't get a free moment to do anything but lose my mind.
