Virginity opinions

I was talking with a friend tonight, and we were discussing virginity. I asked if there was a way to give your virginity physically, and then emotionally. I clarified that I don't count what happened with my first boyfriend to be sex....I just asked to feel him inside me, and there was no feeling behind it - hence not considering my virginity to be taken. The next person I was with, was the person who raped me, and I didn't want to think of the person as having taken my virginity, but that I gave it to my current boyfriend the first time we had sex, because I truly consented and wanted to give it to him. What do you guys think about virginity?
