I'm not sure if this type of post is allowed, and if it isn't, I will immediately delete it, but October is, among other things, Spina Bifida awareness month. Spina Bifida is a neural tube defect caused, generally, by a lack of folic acid in a womans' system. The government recommends that ALL women of childbearing age take 400 mcg of folic acid each day to help prevent spina bifida. If anyone has any questions about spina bifida or folic acid, please feel free to ask. Thank You!
