I find it's almost give-and-take with the Insteads. Sometimes, I have NO trouble inserting them, with the little pinch-the-middle and slip-it-in tactic, and other times it's like it's just not going in any further.
I think it's normal. If you can't feel it and there's no discomfort, I think it's in right. When I use mine, it also feels like it's very close to the opening of my vagina, but there's no way it's going in further!
