I've had friends who have had this same stopping and starting thing with their periods - I think it is fairly common. I really believe that it is natural for our periods to fluxouate and change, be shorter or longer, etc. regardless of this myth that we get fed about the concrete 28 day cycle. I think that's a load of bull. Everywoman will have a shorter or longer or non-predictable cycle. Our bodies are not bound by some human-made scheduele. I bet a variety of things influence our cycles like: food, mood, stress, lunar cycles, weather, temperature, geographical location, drugs we're on. No wonder they are hard to pin down! I hope it doesn't seem like I am ranting at you :) Your question is totally valid, and a good one! I've just always been a bit irked by 28 day "Normal" cycle with 3-5 days of bleeding that the "You're becoming a WOman" pamphlets and doctors tend to feed us. I think I've gone off on a bit of a tangent here.. Basically my point is that I think we should give our bodies a bit more room to do their own thing, even if it doesn't always make sense to us. :)
