Hi all,

TL;DR - does vinegar 'cure' BV or just mask the symptoms?

I've not yet been able to get a gyno appointment, but I've spent a day douching with a 50/50 red wine vinegar(all I had)/water mix. Once in morning, once in evening, did it three times. Did it by tipping myself upside down in the shower and guiding it inside using fingers because I don't have access to actual douching equipment.

After a day of feeling a bit squishy inside (it seems to affect the skin inside the vagina) I left it and now my vagina smells 'normal'....slightly acidic, clearer smell. It doesn't smell like vinegar anymore.

Did I cure the BV, or just re-acidify things? It almost feels like I've cured it (!!!) but it seems too easy. I feel 'wet' again, but it doesn't have that earthy BV smell.

I'm still losing a tiny bit of blood from my cervix, and have had abdominal cramping (I think that's due to something I ate giving me loose bowels) BUT I think I've had tender breasts and maybe a hormone fluctuation...haven't had a period in 110 days and it would be great if spontaneously menstruating fixed everything....

Four days ago I used a dildo and afterwards went to the toilet and peed and wiped and there was blood on the paper.

Today I went to the doctor and got examined and she confirmed there is a small "rough patch" on my cervix. I am being referred to a gynaecologist for further tests but it will be a few days before this happens (and then maybe a few more before I get results).

She said it was soft, which was good (said cancer would be more likely to be hard) and didn't bleed when she touched it (also good), although she said it did "have its own blood supply" (I didn't think to ask how she could tell). Said everything else in the uterus, ovaries etc seemed normal.

I am 37 and have never had and kind of sexual contact (including mouths and fingers) with anyone. Never smoked. Never been on hormonal contraception. No family history. None of the known risk factors apply; I think I am about as low-risk as you can get for cervical cancer.

I am in the UK. Before today I had never had a smear or any kind of examination below the waist. The last seven years I have used tampons and dildos; before than my hymen was more or less intact. Periods have been regular, normal and mostly painless since age 12.

The doctor said it might not be cancer, but wouldn't tell me what else it could be. Can anyone tell me what the other possibilities are? Many thanks.

So I was suppose to start my period on August the 2nd? And I have not started the past two weeks I have had a slight headache and stomach bloating, boobs are tender and nipples are sore with pains shooting through them every now and then. I feel tired but always feel tired so can not really go on that. Me and my husband have been actively trying to get pregnant since last September, I am never late always start 4-2 days before I have calculated that I will start! My stomach looks like I am pregnant it's so bloated and I have gas something awful! I took a pregnancy test yesterday and got a negative result! Anything thought on this? And idea on when I should test again? Thanks for any input! I appreciate it!
