i am 33 and on HBC. i had symptoms of a yeast infection for a week (no discharge, but itchy, painful intercourse, painful urination, sore to touch). the day before my period usually comes, i took monistat 1 at night. when i inserted the ovule i noticed blood. when i woke up in the morning there was some discharge (blood and medicine mixed together). i assumed this was the beginning of my period.

now two days later, i haven't had practically any menstruation blood and i am still sore and it hurts the urinate still. usually i use the diva cup and my period only lasts 3 days. now what is coming out on the pad is dried blood (crusty and dark). i don't understand how the monistat interfered with my period.

Q: do i need to visit a doctor or will the pain eventually go away? should i be concerned that my menstruation stopped?

(side note: no access to tub to try vinegar bath. i am taking homeopathic medicine and probiotics).

Anyone with experience using menstrual sponges? I'm having issues with nausea.

It seems like no matter what I put in my vagina for menstruation, I start to feel sick at some point. The only reusable menstrual cup I've tried is a Lunette. I have seen my cervix with the aid of a doctor once, it's slightly recessed. I wonder if that's why I can't get a suction on it with the Lunette. If I get the Lunette positioned in a way that's comfortable, I always feel nauseous within an hour OR it gets dislodged and makes me feel like I need to pee. I've always had the same problem with tampons too, I can only wear them for a few hours at most no matter how heavy my flow is before I feel nauseous. The best thing I've used for internal menstrual coverage is Instead Cups. Usually I don't feel nauseous until the cup is full. I have to give my vagina an ~8 hr break between wearing the Instead Cups otherwise I'll get nauseous again upon reinsertion. Usually, I'll try to wear one overnight and use pads during the day.

Recently, I bought some sea sponges to use as reusable tampons. They're intended to be inserted high, close to the cervix, not in the vaginal canal. I don't feel them when they're up high, but of course, I end up feeling nauseous within a few hours. I wore one for a few hours last night until I felt sick, wore a pad overnight, wore an Instead Cup for my bicycle ride to work this morning, but had to take it out right after getting to the office because I was nauseous already.

As far as I can tell, this has something to do with the sensitivity of my cervix. Is this something I might adjust to over time if I just try to power through the nausea, or does anyone else have a problem like this?

I use cloth pads for menstruation usually, but they don't work well for bedtime. I can only sleep on my side during my period or I'll leak :(.

BTW, I've posted previously about DIV and still have not found an effective treatment method. The itching has been bearable lately so I'm mostly just trying to ignore it :(.

This was me http://vaginapagina.livejournal.com/21870131.html

that was, a year and a half ago. my periods have been totally normally during this time. This month the same thing happened again.

Again no risk of pregnancy. I can't think of much to add, perhaps there was not fertile mucus at the correct time. (or certainly not a lot)
on both occasions my period arrived 2 weeks after fertility symptoms (which is normal for me) , and with worse cramping than than normal, but nothing else out of the ordinary.

I'm 36, so perhaps its my ageing ovaries, a hormone imbalance I'm open to ideas.
thanks
