Hi VP,

I have shelf stable drug store brand acidophilus pills. Can I insert them vaginally and sprinkle them on my vulva to help combat my raging yeast beast?

I can't take diflucan until I am done with my antibiotics (I had strep throat)>

Thanks,

Last month I had sex on the day I started my period and I let my lover cum inside of me. I had previously never let anyone cum inside of me. After we had sex we went into the shower to rinse off and after about 10 minutes I felt really claustrophobic and dizzy and nauseous. I turned off the water, sat on the floor and made man friend get out of the shower and give me a glass of water and some space. I recovered pretty quickly, and I figure I was just hungry and tired and feeling a lot at once... I don't easily feel nauseous and don't really ever remember feeling claustrophobic before so this was pretty weird.

I'm not too worried about what happened because I think my body was just overwhelmed, but I am curious if anyone has had anything like this happen to them? Or why?

Hey friends!

I have another quandary. My period started yesterday. Normally, I get pretty bad cramps for either half of the day or half of the night within the first day of my period. Last month, I had cramps but they were completely tolerable (no pain killers necessary and I slept fine, etc). I attributed this to having sex on the morning I started my period because I've heard that having an orgasm helps alleviate cramps, and endorphins (yay kissing!) can act as natural painkillers as well.

But THIS month, I have nothing to attribute it to, and I didn't even have minor cramping! I twinged a little bit around when I started bleeding, but then didn't have any cramps after that. I haven't had sex since the first day of my last period. My period is right on time- one day early, in fact. And it's definitely actual period (last night I filled half my divacup).

I am okay with this- not having cramps is really freeing and I feel good! But I had gotten so accustomed to them as part of my period experience, it feels kind of weird not having them... All I can think is that I'm less stressed out than I used to be? I graduated college in December so my life in general is a lot more free and I have been really really happy... but still... *poof!*

Any ideas where they went?

Some background first. I am 22, 23 in April, and am on Lo/Ovral birth control pills. I have tried different types of BCP, and have even tried the Nuva Ring (which was a horrible decision because of mood swings and unable to function in a day to day setting, plus yeast infections).

I have always had bad hot flashes. I know it's normal to get them with your period, but I still feel really young, and feel that it's too much.

I wake up multiple times a night from hot flashes. During the day, I have at least 4 or 5 a day the week of my placebo pills, plus maybe a day before and after.

Is there something I can do to lessen these symptoms? Is this something I should get checked out?

So, I'm on HBC. My problem is that I tend not to start bleeding until day 6 of the placebo. I don't continue to bleed once the hormones are back in my system (I've read some do, that their period still 'finishes', IDK..?). So I only get to bleed for 3 days (days 6 and 7, and then day 1 as well because I take my pill before bed). I'm worried that I'm not bleeding enough, that I'm not shedding my entire endometrial lining. I'm worried that this could be unhealthy. I've considered letting my 'off' week go an extra day, but I'm worried that could affect the effectiveness of the birth control (not something I'm super-worried about since we're only 6 mo. from TTC again and would be thrilled if we got pregnant now, it'd just be really bad timing with my schooling).

FWIW, back when I was still getting a natural cycle (I don't anymore due to worsening of my PCOS), I had heavy 7-10 day periods about 4 times a year. Before going on HBC, I would induce with progesterone about every 3-4 mo. and bleed for about 5-7 days.

Thoughts? Advice?
