Period at the gyno...

Hi ladies...

I have a gyno appointment scheduled for October. They're limited for spots so I let them fit me in whenever they could. All was fine and dandy until I realized I may be on my period on the date of the exam. There's no guarantee because my periods are irregular (that's half the reason I'm even going in the first place) but now I'm paranoid that I will be on it. Think I should cancel the appointment and try to reschedule? Or wait and see... I just imagine it'd be really uncomfortable for the doctor, and myself. I've only been to the gyno once before and that was when I was 19 or so. I'm 22 now and think I should start going regularly. It's embarrassing enough as it is...but with my period added on, I just feel weird about it.

Topamax + Nuvaring?

Has anyone here been on Topamax (topiramate) and the NuvaRing at the same time? It's a med commonly used for migraines, epilepsy and as a mood stabilizer. My shrink has just  prescribed it to me for the latter (50mg dosage) and I read the Nuvaring pamphlet and it says there might be a drug interaction. I called the shrink and she said that it's such a low dosage that it won't affect birth control, and in fact, my Google-fu tells me that only dosages over 200mg a day would reduce the effectiveness

Anyone want to give me a hand here?

sort of cramps?

So sometimes I get kinda crampy down there on my active pills. It's mild and it goes away. It's nothing to really complain about but sometimes it gets annoying, it only happens on occasion, usually a week before my withdrawal bleed, but I'm in the middle of two weeks into my pack . What does that mean? Is my pill still working or what?
