I combed through the "Nuvaring" tag, but didn't see anything that addressed my particular question. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

I started using the Nuvaring a few weeks ago, and the vaginal discharge is ridiculous. Otherwise, I haven't really had any side effects - I had one day where I was super-weepy/emotional, and another where it felt like someone had been punching my ovaries, but nothing aside from that. The discharge is ridiculous; I know it's a normal side effect, but I've been overflowing pantiliners. And often feel like I'm leaking period-like amounts. It's just clearish and goopy - reminds me of modge-podge - with no real odor, so I'm sure it's not ring-induced BV or YI.

So far, I've tolerated the excessive discharge, but I'd love to know... Is there any hope of it lessening a bit after my body adjusts more to the ring?

I'm not really interested in switching to something else, since aside from the discharge I haven't really had any issues, and I would never remember to take a pill every day.

I tend to sleep very deeply while I'm menstruating and for longer periods of time. I feel more rested than I usually do, but also a bit more sluggish. Does this happen to you guys too? And can anyone tell me why it happens?

Thank you!

hello hello!
bit of rambley background because that's what I do )
here's my question: I find I'm prone to anxiety and depression (I'm a chronic overthinker and all that fun stuff), so I'm super freaked out about how the pill might affect me. most of my friends are on hbc and tried to console me, and I know that there isn't a way of knowing without trying, but is there a certain pill/type of pill I should go toward? one that isn't likely to cause or up anxiety/depression/mood difficulties while still being able to control my insane cramp attacks?

sorry for the novel for a simple question, but I thanks in advance for your help, I really appreciate it.

SO my friend Just started having sex again and she and her partner have done it twice and they use the pull out method. (I'm trying to get her to use condoms, but she seems to want an illegitimate child with this guy who doesn't even like her that much).
She is having cramping, tender boobs and a headache, but she thinks she ovulated 3 days ago. And now she is telling me she thinks she is pregnant. How do I convince her that pregnancy symptoms don't start until a few weeks after you actually become pregnant?
She also seems to think that every time she has sex she becomes pregnant and looses it because she only weighs 117. She also was convinced she was pregnant a few months ago because she doesn't understand what evaporation lines are...

She is 25, I just don't know what I'm suppose to say to her.. I don't want to mother her, but I think she really needs to use some form of birth control/ protection..
Please Help!

What kind of soap do you use for your labia? In order to cut down on UTIs, I started washing my vulva in January and haven't had a UTI since. I also clean my labia with water (and sometimes, glycerin-containing baby wipes) after sex, which is probably the biggest UTI prevention step besides peeing. However, I've had itching off and on since winter.

I've used Neutrogena bar face soap and Lever body soap at my house, and Clean and Clear face soap and Irish Spring at my boyfriend's. His soap is way more fragranced, it's true, but I haven't particularly noticed a pattern. I also recently switched detergents from Seventh Generation to BioKleen. Neither were unfragranced, but neither really smelled like much other than soap and the citrus extracts used to make them.

It seems like an allergy rather than an infection, because I just got tested and am STI-free. The nurse did a swab of my discharge and a visual check of my labia, and it doesn't look like a YI, either. My vagina itches slightly, but it's more of an issue with the labia, which are dry but not red, angry and cracked. The itch isn't continuous, and peaks at night. It's not pinworms; I know what THAT itch feels like. Also, my mons and just outside of my labia majora itch occasionally, like hair growing in even in areas where I don't shave.

So. What kind of soap do you use? Has anyone had success using non-soap methods of cleaning the labia, specifically in terms of not getting a UTI? Does this sound like anything other than an allergy?
