hello, hello.

this isn't directly vagina related...but yea...i figured this was a good place to get opinions.

so, i started taking birth control in october '06. i stopped taking it in august '08. i only stopped because i ran out and didn't have the money to go to the doctor to get more, and planned parenthood refused to give me any without an exam...and i am NOT getting an exam at any of the planned parenthoods near me because they are gross. ahah. the reason i started BC in the first place was to lighten/shorten my period and to get rid of my debilitating cramps that kept me in bed for a week. now, the BC didn't help with any of that at all...i tried about 4million over the course of the 2 years i was on it...and none worked. i just stayed on it so i didn't get pregnant.

well, anyways. after i stopped taking it, my cycles were pretty good, pretty regular...which they always were, my cycles were never irregular. but then in november, it all started to get crazy. i got it on the 2nd (the first night of my honeymoon, awesome! ahah.) and then again on the 27th or 28th. and ever since november 2nd my cycles have been ALL over the place. my cycles....times (?? ahah.) since the 2nd have been: 26 days, 28 days, 31 days, 27 days, 25 days and 29 days. and, i know it probably doesn't seem all that irregular...it is for me. also, my periods have been unusually light & short(not that i'm complaining) but ever since i first got my period they have been long, heavy, nasty and gross. and i no longer get warning signs when i'm about to get it. i used to get cramps for atleast 4 days before i got it. now, if i feel a cramp...it means it's time to go to loo because i got my period. also, my husband and i tried, but didn't really try to get pregnant in december and november. and when i say try but didn't try, i mean we just pretty much had sex every night without a condom knowing that pregnancy was a possibility(we had unprotected sex multiple times in october/november also and didn't get pregnant...but we also tried our best to have it on my least fertile days).

another funny thing is my acne... i was never one to have acne... i only got some pimples when i was getting my period. now, i get them every damn day of the month...except the days i am bleeding. when i am bleeding my face is flawless! ahah. i just don't get it.

my mom said maybe my hormones are all muffed up and such. which i also thought too.
i know, i should go to a doctor...a doctor will know more than people on LJ. but, i figured i'd get some other opinions while i get some money together to actually see a doctor. boy, oh, boy can't even afford to see a doctor. ahah. gotta love this economy.

soooo, yea..... hopefully someone here can help me out or something!

thanks so much in advance!

I'm generally concerned as to why I've been bleeding for so long. I've always been a girl to only have my period for 4, MAYBE 5, days even before I started taking birth control in July 2008. Since I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo my withdrawal bleeds show up on any day of the inactive week and last for about 4 days, predictably.

On April 16 at about 8 a.m. I began my withdrawal bleed (finally!) considering my new month of active pills was to start Friday morning. That was scary enough, but I have learned to not expect my bleed right away.

Anyway, my issue is... I'm still bleeding! I've been taking my active pills since the 17th and here we are on the 9th day straight of bleeding...and this isn't just visible on the t.p. bleeding...it is showing up in my underwear and all. And the funny thing is that sometimes it's red and other times it's brown.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? I really don't have a gynecologist to call...the one that prescribed this to me has only seen my once, ended up leaving the practice about 6 months later, and is located in another state anyway -- I have since moved. Is this something I should call the pill company about? A doctor? Can I just call any doctor in general?

Thanks for help...oh, and my boyfriend and I have stopped having sex in order to find out what the problem is. We're hoping that this wasn't a "bad" pack of pills and hoping that I haven't started ovulating. While I'm here...this isn't a possible sign of pregnancy is it? I don't have any other symptoms, luckily. In case it's of any importance: I've never missed a pill and I take mine at 8 a.m. every single day and we also practice withdrawal during intercourse.

I want to stop taking my birth control because I'm getting and IUD soon. I take a POP and it says I can stop it anytime, but I want to make sure I don't up my pregnancy risk while doing so.I had sex on Monday, we didn't use condoms but we used withdrawal. I also had sex with a condom yesterday even though I was told not to do so due to pregnancy risk. Since I'm on the pill I figured my risk was already very low and using a condom would make it even lower. Would it be ok to stop taking my pill tomorrow and not have to worry about pregnancy from Monday's encounter?

Soo last night I lost my virginity..yay! Hah, let me tell you though it hurt like hell for like the first few minutes cause I guess he broke my hymen? I dunno there was blood everywhere but afterwhile it stopped hurting and I just felt pressure I think he was hitting my bladder or something lol. I didn't get any pleasure from it..maybe a little but whatever it was fun. At least now I know it won't hurt and I can relax more and just go with the flow next time lol. Is it normal for there to be blood still that's coming out? And I'm sure it's normal if your vagina kinda hurts tooo. I dunno I may be getting my period very soon so maybe that's the reason I still have blood. And is it true that right before you get your period( If I'm gonna get it soon) and you have sex it becomes shortet or lighter? Heh, anyways I'm so happy I got that over with the pain and all now I can enjoy it.

copper IUD

I just made a consultation appointment with my gyno about getting the copper IUD in. I am doing this because the hormonal birth control pills I have ben taking decrease my libido.

However, the more I read about this the more freaked I become. I was hoping to find some advice or personal testimonies to make me feel better about going through with this. I've already combed WebMd for the details.

I am 20 years old, have one partner, and have never been pregnant.

i had sex last night for the first time since october. the guy had a larger than average dick and i have a pretty tight vagina. and we used a condom. i don't know if that's all relevant to this. anyway. today my discharge is very resemblant of a yeast infection. but it doesn't feel like i have a yeast infestion at all. it just feels like i got pounded by a guy with a big cock. so... i guess my questions are... is it common for discharge to be a little more opaque/yellowish than usual the day after having sex? does this mean i have or am getting a yeast infection?

okay ... I am on a combined pill, Femodene. I've been off it for a week (it doesn't come with placebo pills/sugar pills) and it was time to start my next month's pill today. the instructions are to take the one labelled the right day of the week on the top row of the pills (and I KNOW this - I just had a brainfart moment). Idiotically, I decided to take my pill before coffee in the morning and was therefore close to nonfunctioning. I remembered 'take a pill' but didn't even THINK about any other instructions. Opened a pack and swallowed a pill before I even remembered there WERE other instructions. I'd taken one at random labelled 'wed'. Still nonfunctioning, I thought I could fix this by taking another one labelled 'fri'. Now I've had my coffee, I realise this was stupid.
1) it wasn't one from the top row like the instructions state - will this mean I'm not protected?
2) will taking two pills in a day cause me any harm? I don't think so, because that's what my instructions say to do if I miss one and remember the next day - and also because EC is the same hormones in a large dose? I just want to be sre
3) should I take the one I should have taken today? or would that be stupid?
4) which pill should I take tomorrow? should I carry on round the pack from when I started? or take the one I would have taken tomorrow if I'd done the right thing today?
5) what should I do when I reach the part of the pack where I am now missing pills? can I safely skip them? should I skip them but use condoms? or should I take a pill every day even if it means I am taking the 'wrong' ones?

urgh, sorry for confusion and length, but if anyone has any advice I would be grateful!

I'm prone to UTIs after sex and my urologist prescribed a post-sex antibiotic. However, I've been reading a lot about Cystex and how it can be used as a preventative if taken before sex since it has an antibacterial in it. I'm going to ask my gynocologist and urologist about it, but was curious if anyone here as tried it and if it works? I would LOVE to not have to take a long term antibiotic since antibiotics tend to make me sick on my stomach or just feel "blah" in general.

Also, I wanted to start using feminine wipes or baby wipes to clean myself and my husband before and after sex. Does anyone else do this? Is there a difference between those feminine wipes and plain baby wipes? I know to get non-alcohol, non scented ones, but I wasn't sure if maybe baby wipes would be more sensitive. Would it even help anyways? Is there anything in these wipes that will help get rid of germs or are they just for "freshness"?

Thanks guys!

Wonderful people of Vaginapagina-
So this isn't a vagina question, but a boob question. I figured this was the best group of people to ask.
Basic info: 20, sexually active, and I've been on Loestrin 24Fe for 16 months (haven't missed a pill in 3 months, my weight has been constant (w/in 3 lbs either way), I recently started taking Klonopin and Cylexa for anxiety.
The question: My boobs, or left breast actually, is killing me. It's tender, sore, and I almost want to say swollen.  If it matters at all, its more on the outside rather than near my clevage. I haven't bumped myself and there's no bruising.  Any idea what could be going on? I'm at a loss.

Thanks in advace! I've asked questions before and you girls were amazing.

Ok, I have been lurking here for the past month, and I am curious about something. I went on the shot for my first form of b.c. because my p.p. doctor practically forced me into this choice as being best for me. I gained weight, a lot of weight. Maybe around 50-60 pounds in less than a year. I am a petite person so it really affects my self esteem. It made me gain weight in places I never knew that existed.

I went on various oral b.c. right after using three years on Depo. No breaks, and it feels like this weight won't budge. I eat well [no junk food at all], I am really active, and I feel stuck. Most other h.b.c. has caused massive migraines on a daily basis, or funky acne. I am on Yasmin, and love it except for this weight factor [possible hair-loss]. What the heck can I do? I am scared of trying other b.c. and I am a really heavy bleeder, so IUD isn't for me. Mirena could give me the really bad effects the shot did [greasy hair/skin/acne/weight]. F.P. isn't an option either. I feel like I am in a tough place at the moment. Hormones plump me up like a Thanksgiving turkey. I don't even feel like I am in my own body anymore. People that are in the same boat, how do you deal? :[

So for a couple of years I've been getting this sickness, I just call it a "female sickness", well, because it comes around my period. It's not cramps or anything like that, it's much worse and it happens two weeks after I get my period. For two weeks I am irrational, crazy, agitated, experience severe fatigue and insomnia, sweating, feeling like fainting and complete and utter debilitation, to the point where I can't do ANYTHING. It's not just like a PMS thing, which many people write it off to be. My OB/Gyn didn't know what it was, so at first put me on Seasonal birth control, (which didn't work), Yasmin (which, again did nothing) and then at my suggestion I insisted I be put on the depo-provera birth control. I went to an Endocrinologist and he suggested a psychiatrist. My gyno also put me on an antidepressant, which of course didn't help the situation. The situation has improved a bit with the shot, but if I don't get it before the period the same situation occurs. I had blood tests done and it showed that I had a low iron level. So the Dr thought it may be Anemia, I'm not normally anemic, but with the loss of blood I guess I could become that way, but I don't think that's what it is.

So I became my own doctor and consulted Wikipedia, which described malaise and another condition called Vasovagal syncope, or vasovagal response, has anyone ever heard of these? Vasovagal episodes occur with certain triggers and cause someone to faint or lose consciousness on certain occasions. It can also occur in the cervix.

In 2006, I got the Guardasil shot, which they now mandate young girls to take to prevent HPV (Human Pappiloma virus). I never once had these symptoms before I took the shot, (it's a series of 6 shots), I would highly recommend that if your doctor tells you to get it don't. I looked up some of the things that happened and syncope was one of the repercussions. I found out the shot is still in its experimental stages! If I had known that I would have never contemplated getting it. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

I'm getting Implanon, either next week or next month (depends on my gyno's schedule).

Has anyone had it? How has it compared to HBC (I'm on a combo pill) in terms of period duration and frequency?

Also, in regards to my earlier post about sex problems - has anyone experienced a drop in libido even after been on HBC for awhile? I started on birth control when I was 17 to control cramps. I didn't start having libido problems until I was almost 21. I'm really hoping that the HBC isn't related to the libido problems...I need the hormone balance to keep my cramps from taking over my life!

last month and again this month before my period my inner labia is swelling and becoming extremely itchy to the point where I have a hard time sleeping. it only lasts for a couple days but I use a cream on it so I think that may be helping to keep it at a couple day minimum. I know it's not a yeast infection because I've talked to people about it. but I have no idea what it could be. I also notice that it happens more when I masturbate a LOT. is my vagina irritated? I'm never dry when I masturbate so I don't think it's that. has anyone else gotten this before? thanks :)

Tonight, on a rather spur of the moment decision, I decided to actually give shaving my vulva a try. It hasn't been bare since puberty, and though I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, I'm giving it through my next period just to see. Now I have a few questions, just because I've been a moron and ignored almost everything about shaving there before.

1. How long should I go before I touch it up? Like should stubble be a certain length or something?

2. I put some baby powder on the area after my shower in order to help with chafing issues I sometimes get. I'm assuming this was fairly safe, right? I mean it's baby powder, and we put it on our infants genitals.

3. Is there anything I can do to try and prevent ingrown hairs? I have this nightmare of waking up tomorrow to find my vulva covered with them.

Any help for the ignorant is truly appreciated!

So I was wondering...does anyone else's orgasms kinda hurt?

Not only do I pretty much have to hurt my clit to achieve orgasm (through things like smashing my clit almost painfully against something hard, or placing the jet of water in such a way that its full force is on my fully exposed clit), but when I actually orgasm it kind of hurts too. Kinda like a sharp pain in my clit. This makes me a bit sad as I'd really rather have just total pleasure, but it seems that's not in the cards for my orgasms :(

Is anyone else this way?

I get these weird spasms that seem fairly deep in my lower abdomen, or even my uterus, but I have no idea why.

I FEEL like its... a baby kicking or something. But this has happened to me many times before, and I have never been pregnant... and I know I'm not know (well I "know" as far as I'm on the pill, and I've had my period the past few months regularly).

The spasms just come kind of randomly. I can't really think of anything that would be triggering it.

Any ideas?

I am going to make this as short as possible. I started my period on the 8th and it lasted two days. I took a pregnancy test and I'm not pregnant. Last night my FWB was pretty drunk and banged into my cervix pretty hard, but it's happened before with nothing happening.

Today we started to have sex and while I was still a bit sore, I figured it would be fine as long as we took it easy. We go to switch positions when I realize everything is covered in blood. This was at 3pm and I am still bleeding. It's just like my period with the same type of blood and that gross gushy feeling. I'm not really having any other period like symptoms, except for the soreness around my cervix.

I just want to make sure that my body is trying to make up for my ultra short period this month and get back on track.
