i have these bumps on my vagina, they showed up around the time i started shaving everything off which is also the time i started having sex. they arent exactly ON the vagina, kind of like the place where the belly meets the vagina (bellgina ive heard it called hah). they stop about where the hair stops growing. at first it was just a few but now i have a lot. they hurt a little bit sometimes but other than that no itching or anything else abnormal, i think it may just be irritated skin and ingrown hairs but i'm not POSITIVE. could someone maybe tell me the difference between ingrown hairs/shaving problems and genital warts?

Okay. So, my step-dad thinks I should get birth control, and I do, too.

Okay so cold sores have been a regular thing for me since I was little, regular meaning one or two every month or so, always inside the mouth- never on the outside lip itself. They'd either be a clear bubble thing right inside my bottom lip or a crater type thing (so gross) anywhere in the mouth...

WELL today I woke up with the corner of my top lip feeling a bit raw... so I look, and there's a small bundle of tiny white dots.. About seven.

Is this anything bad? Sorry if its totally normal, I'm just a little worried since I've never seen it before.

Hi ladies!

so yesterday, I had my annual exam with pap and hpv exam (which I supremely pissed I can't get vaccinated for at 29) and I started bleeding right after. I know I should've asked then, but I just figured it was nothing and would stop. This morning the bleeding has become much heavier. I guess it could be my period about a week and half early, but I am usually very aware of pms and I didn't have any. There is some cramping, like menstrual cramps.

I called my gyno first thing this morning and she has yet to call me back, so I am worrying a little. Now I feel nauseous and shaky with a lot of muscle soreness.

Any ideas?

Hey folks!
My period, which is usually a day or so early, is five days late. I'm sexually active, not on HBC (went off it in November because it made me crazy), and we have used condoms with no issues that I know of (except that he will sometimes insert himself into me for 30-40 seconds during foreplay). I have gained a few pounds. I haven't really been showing any signs of my period coming, a little bit of cramping and some slight breast tenderness. I have been stressed recently - the past month involved finals, a 14,000 mile road trip to visit my parents with my boyfriend, buying a car, finding two jobs, and moving out of one dorm and into another. I am in a committed, very stable relationship, I'm a year away from graduating college, and my boyfriend is about  to graduate college.
I haven't  had many of the signs that I associate with pregnancy. I haven't been very emotional at all, and hormones really intensely affected my moods when I was on HBC. I haven't been nauseous, I have been a little dizzy occasionally, I've had plenty of energy (even with working a job where I'm on my feet constantly), no cravings, no sensitivity to smell, no heartburn or constipation. I had a cold that just wouldn't go away a couple weeks ago, but I think it was allergies.
I don't really feel pregnant, I feel normal. Best I've felt in a while, actually.
If I don't get it by tomorrow, I'm going to take a pregnancy test.
What are the best pregnancy tests? And what other feedback can you offer me?
Thank you!!!!

gel lube

I really like the lube used by my doctors' office but always forget to ask. It is a gel and comes in a large toothpaste like tube. After some recent misadventures with a bottle of Astroglide, I am thinking a gel might be more convenient. Alternately, any suggestions for a gel lubricant preferably non-scented/non-warming/non-tingling.

Okay...so as soon as I post this last night (which, by the way, all of you were of immense help and comfort--thank you!), what did I find today?

Yeah, I got my period today (without me having done anything). Hi, irony. *sigh*

I'm not against the idea, for once; as someone had said, 3 months' worth of uterine lining can't be good, so the sooner it's out there the better. But now I'm being thrown for a further loop--is this, well, normal? As in, normal for the sense of people with whacked up hormones? I don't think I did anything that would've induced my period, so what gives--was this going its natural course? Should I add anything to my prior list when I see my doctor on Tuesday? Am I going crazy?

Eep. Sorry. I'm just panicked and massively weirded out right now. Between finals and an impending job interview, I feel doomed enough as it is without my body weirding out on me, and deciding to contradict me as soon as I try to get some help.

Thank you all again!

I'm on Desogen (a monophasic HBC). I really just don't feel like having a period this month. I should start the placebos sunday. So, to skip my period that's when I should start the new pack(right?), but I didn't get to go to the pharmacy this week, so I won't be able to get a new pack until Monday. So I know to just double up monday, but since I'm already doing something different and skipping a period, is this just going to be a mess?

I've never used my bc to skip a period, but right now it just seems like mighty fine idea. I usually like to have a period just as a little "Hey! You're not pregnant! Good job!" But as I've heard you can still have periods for the first few months of pregnancy, does anyone know how true that is?

Also, if you miss the first day of the pack, you double up the next day, then do you need a backup for the next seven days?

Man, the instructions that come with the pills could be so much more detailed.. can anyone recommend a book on this? Is there something like a birth control bible, with everything you need to know about birth control? That would be amazing, if there is such a thing.

P.S.
This is my first time posting, and I've just got to say this community is fantastic! This is the nicest forum on birth control, girly issues, ect, that I've seen. :)

Two completely unrelated questions:

1) On Wednesday night, I (and four other employees at my work) suddenly came down with something that caused us to throw up a lot over a 12 hour period. It got to the point where I almost passed out and almost had to go to the hospital. I'm doing much better today, but I am having a LOT of discharge, which I don't normally. Could this be related to me being sick? (There's also a chance I could be pregnant, but I'm assuming that wouldn't be related because the sex that would've caused the pregnancy happened only four days ago.)

2) My fiance and I recently tried Play Time "Tingling" lube (http://www.playlubricants.com/about/tingling.html) and it burned my girly parts pretty badly. I quickly washed it off and was fine after that. I see now that KY has something similar and wanted to give it a try. I compared the ingredients, and noticed that the Play Time one has menthol in it, while the KY one doesn't. Do you think it's the menthol that caused it to burn? For your reference, these are the full ingredients for both products: Ingredients )

so im kinda freaking out....for the past hour i have been having a dull pain in my right leg...its mostly right above my knee and then down my shin...its not unbearable, but its uncomfortable...so this is why im concerned...i just started taking BC (loestrin24) about 2 weeks ago. I have never been on any type of BC before and it took me a while to get it because my doctor had concerns about my slighty high blood pressure (which mixed with the pill can cause clots i guess). She finally decided i could try a low dose pill and take an asprin everyday which i have been doing. So my question is do my symptoms sound anything like a blood clot? Should I have this looked at?

I would love to buy some reusable maxi pads, or pads suitable for postpartum flow for a close friend of mine whose baby is due soon.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where would be the best place to buy them? It would have to be online and willing to ship to the UK.
