Well, I'm one of the lucky few who get PID with an IUD insertion even with all tests negative going into the procedure.

At the 72 hour mark with the antibiotics, the symptoms aren't improving. I get to head back to the doctor tomorrow and they will consider the next mode of action.

I must admit, I'm rather frightened. Researching online is yielding scary figures such as "15% chance of infertility" and the like... Has anyone dealt with PID before? I would love to hear your stories, the good and the bad. Facts and info sheets will be happily devoured, as well. I'm terrified, not knowing if my experience is "normal" or not...

On a more positive note, I have been thrilled with my clinic (the Options for Sexual Health clinic in Vancouver, Canada). When I called with concerns after finding a lump on my cervix two weeks after insertion, they slotted me in for an emergency appointment, even though they have very restricted office hours. My doctor did a very thorough exam, and decided it was best to go straight to the ER, as she didn't want to muck around with my fertility (and also, she said that immediate treatment was the best way to keep from pulling the IUD.) Both she and a nurse walked with me to the ER (after packing me a care package for the wait, including a chocolate bar, a pop and some cherries) to make sure that I got checked in safely. The nurse did four follow-ups over the next few days, and did a lot of research with other doctors and nurses and manuals to answer my questions (and to double-check that my treatment was optimal). As I have to go to a walk-in clinic for tomorrow's follow-up (due to the clinic's restricted hours), she told me exactly what to ask them for, and told me what to look out for (so that I could stand up for myself). I am impressed beyond words; the whole experience has restored my faith in the medical system.

Also, for the one week it gave me no noticeable problems, the IUD was fantastic. I hope that my uterus decides to like it as much as I do, but this whole mess is making that rather difficult. :(

Okay well I got my period when I was around 15 (I'm 18 now), and ever since then it's been very irregular. The length of it is about the same (6-ish days), but the occurrence is the problem. It can come regularly for two months, then not come for 3 - 4 months, then come once and not show up for another 3 - 4 months, then come regularly ... you get the idea. I've had my period at all times of the month, shortest time between them was around 2 - 3 weeks, longest about 4 - 5 months.

When I was almost 17 my mom took me to the gyno to get checked, and I had a pelvic ultrasound done, and the gyno couldn't find anything wrong; he said it would probably sort itself out in a year or so (I was a competitive swimmer and I trained a lot). But in the last two years I've stopped training intensively and the erratic pattern, if you can even call it that, hasn't stopped. The last time I had my period was in April, and before that in February.

I'm not on birth control or any medication, I exercise quite regularly (though not intensively), and according to the gyno I have no conditions like endometriosis.

Should I be worried about this?

1. Are these the same thing? (I'm describing them as the muscles that you use to stop the flow of urine).

2. How do i know i'm doing them right?

3. I remember reading something about holding a pencil up there to test the strength of the muscles. Can anyone elaborate for me please?

Thankyou

Last month I went to the doctor and was told it is Molloscum that I have 'down there'. She said she would recommend letting them go away on their own. Tonite I felt a little discomfort when walking and looked and one of them has turned brown. Has this ever happened to one of your guys'? I think I will go back and see about getting them burned off or something.

Also, is there any over the counter products that I could try? Thanks!

Is there a link between taking (combined) birth control pills and high cholesterol? I've found a few sources online saying there is.

This makes sense to me since estrogen increases good cholesterol. I recently found out that my total cholestorol is 208, which is quite high, considering I'm only 18... I don't know what my good and bad cholesterol is. I've been on the pill for nine months.

If BC increases good cholesterol (and thus total cholesterol, as well), does it matter? Would it increase your risk of heart disease/stroke?

And if you're on the pill and you don't mind sharing, what's your cholesterol? Is it higher than it was before you started taking the pill?

Thanks!

There's only two more days in this month left, and I still haven't started my period. I don't know what's going on. I hope someone can make me a little less worried about this.

I'm not pregnant.
I am sexually active. But everytime we had sex we were safe and used a condom. No condom has broken.

The other day I had that ''feeling'' where you're just sitting there and you have that weird sensation in your tube...area. My cousin said that's when the egg drops. Ovulation?

Well my period STILL ISNT HERE.

what are the possible reasons.. and if I do get it like at the beggining of next month, is that safe? because that would technically mean I missed it, kinda right?

x-posted to ask a nurse.

So, I have a question about bleeding...not spotting, but bleeding. I've been on HBC for over 4 years now. I was on OrthoTricycln-Lo for a good 2 1/2 years, then Miricette for about a year, and now Microgestin for a little over 6 months. I've always had very heavy cramps and bleeding along with painful, long-lasting periods. The only HBC that has helped any has been my current. I have shorter(3-4) periods, and only one or two days of moderate to severe cramping, as opposed to 7+ days longs periods and severe cramping. But over the past few months, I've been having some breakthrough bleeding. It only lasts about one day, and basically goes from heavy to spotting in that day time. Sometimes even a cramp or two. But this month is way different and has me concerned something is wrong. I got my period almost two weeks ago, and it was the normal 4 day long time span. About two days after it ended, I started spotting, then it progressed to heavy clotting and has continued with heavy bleeding with many, gross clots until about two days ago, when it stopped clotting and is now just very dark and light, but still not spotting.

Oh & other things, too. I forgot to mention my boob have been horrendously sore and painful and I've been very nauseous, but not hungry at all. And a low grade fever of 99-99.3 for the past week. But all those things could be flu or something else, just though I'd mention.

Anyone know what could possibly cause this? I've taken my pills correctly, and I am sexually active. I've been told I need to go and get a higher dosage hormone pill. Wold that be the problem? Not enough hormones, or something else?

Thank you.

Okay so when I have sex sometimes I get very wet. So much that it makes a huge wet spot on the bed. I didn't really think that much if it until my boyfreind said that it never happened with his previous girlfriends. Now I'm worried that I'm weird.
It's very watery and clear and different then my usual cum.
Am I normal?
Is there any way to prevent it?
Help me!
