weird bumps?

okay, i know this is NOT the same as actually going to the doctor. that said -

about a year ago, i had unprotected sex. a few days ago, i noticed two weird bumps on the edge of my vagina and leg area. they're pretty small and kind of whitish on top? it looks sort of like irritated skin, like there had been some chafing. they aren't itchy or uncomfortable, but they make me nervous. i also tend to get ingrown hairs a ton which always makes me nervous. i'm assuming this is not an STD...considering it's been a year later. any input would be fantastic. i'm just nervous and don't really have a way to see a doctor unless it's way urgent. thanks guyssss

always tired, migraines

i've noticed this lately, in the past six months after i started using the nuvaring. This wasn't the firs birthcontrol I was on. It seems that when my job requires me to be there at 6am, it's so hard for me to go to bed at a decent hour. THe only thing that puts me to sleep is a serving of nyquil. Two tylenol pm's don't even knock me out. It seems that I have a hard time going to bed before 12am or later, if im lucky. When I do get up before the sun comes up. I always seem to have this migraine all day, until I get home and sleep all day. Even when I have a later shift at work. I always have a migraine all day. It always effects my left eye, and the lights bother me. My family has a history with migraines, so I'm not sure if its the bcp, lack of sleep, or history of family. The new pill I'm on is Loestrin 24fe, doesnt make me nauesous. I need to go to the doctor anyway, to have her look at my ankle and get a check up so I'll talk to her about this as well. thanks <3

butt pimple, brazilian wax, spice up sex life

A few questions I'm curious about so hopefully you can have some feedback!
1. Not really vagina related, but I have the ugliest butt pimple and I'm trying every cream and it doesn't seem to go away. Any remedies?

2. My beau is currently in Europe and will be back July 19th. I'm planning to get a brazilian wax. Any reccomendations to ease the pain for a first timer besides a couple of Advils?

3. Since my beau is gone, I want to surprise him sexually when he gets back and be a bit more aggressive when initiating sex. ANy tips to do so or websites that will be helpful?

I know you guys get “am I pregnant” questions all the time, and I know there is no way any of you can tell me one way or another but Oh girls I am so scared right now! Okay so I just got done having sex and the condom broke! I am on yasmin BC. Okay so I have 2 active pills left, and then I normally start 2-3 days into my white pills. The thing is that I normally don’t take my pill at the same time everyday, I never miss pills but sometimes I take them kind of late like 3-4 hours after I was suppose to. (I know that is stupid of me) I know the possibility is slim but I was still wondering. Is right before your period the worst or best time to get pregnant? Like I know there are times in a woman’s cycle were she is most likely to get pregnant, is this one of them? Anything to ease my worries would be wonderful. Thank you so much girls, this community has helped me so very much.

Uterine cancer

My mother was recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer.  She is probably going to go in for a hysterectomy soon to see how far the cancer has spread.

I guess I don't have a specific question because her doctor was pretty thorough, but I would like to ask if anyone has had experience with this kind of cancer.  I'm really kind of looking for reassurance because this is obviously scary for both my mom and me.  So, any experiences?  What was having the surgery like?  The doctor told us that it was one of the "best" kind of gynocological cancers to get in terms of curability - is that true?

Also, are there support groups in the SF Bay Area that anyone knows of for women who've had this type of thing?

Edit: (One question that came to mind) How important is it to get a second opinion on this? We have Kaiser doctors, so they should be good, but we definitely can spare the money to go somewhere else if necessary.

Lumps in Breasts

Over the past year I’ve gained some weight and my breasts have gotten larger. Since then I’ve found some lumps in them. I’ve heard that its actually somewhat common for girls to have lumps in there breasts, is this true? I’m only 23, should I be worried about this, I plan on going to the gyno in a few months when I have money for it and will ask about it then. But in the meantime wanted to know if I should worry.

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on Plan B yesterday!
I ended up being able to go and pick some up at safeway (vons on the mainland).
Only sucky thing, it ended up costing $60! Yarf.
And they are still saying that it only works up to 72 hours after the fact...?


I was also looking for experiences with copper iuds.
I can't do hormone bc and am pretty bad about using condoms, obviously (see above)
But I haven't had kids, so i'm afraid I'd get turned down. And is it covered at all by
insurance? I have HSMA...

What are your feelings about getting the Gardasil shot? The new HPV vaccine?

I'm going to my interist tomrrow and I'm going to talk to her about it. I've got a birthday coming up that is going to make me too old for the vaccine (26, and WTF is up with that anyway?)

I'm trolling the web trying to find out its availability and cost....god knows if my insurance will cover it.

For those of you who are going to be expiring, would you rush to get it?

period sex and an odd period after

I did look through the FAQ's and did'nt see my 'predicament' anywhere. Last week on day two of my period my fiancee and I had sex. He came inside me. Me getting pregnant is not an issue for us , meaning if I did it would'nt be the end of our world. Anyway, about two days after we had Sex my period stopped. It had been rather light to begin with but it stopped what was for me rather early. My period usually lasts from 5-6 days. So this weekend I start spotting and my breasts are extremely sore to the touch. My spotting is bright red almost like you cut yourself blood. At first I thought it was the end of my period but it has came and gone off and on for the past three days. When my period started kast week it had started when it was calculated too so that would have been my period, I just don't understand what happened to it? Its almost as if the sex scared it off lol. When usually sex helps bring it on. I am just confused and the spotting has me alittle freaked I have never spotted before. The sore breasts have become a new tell tale sign my period was coming.
And when I say that us getting pregnant would'nt be the end of the world, it is not that we are actively trying ( although unprotected sex definitely says otherwise does'nt it ) we use condoms all month long and occasionally go bareback during my period. Could having sex during my period have screwed something up? while I know there is a chance of conception during your period I thought the chances where slim to none?.

Tender Breasts

I have a question about my breasts.

They have been very tender and a little swollen for the last few days. At first I figured it was PMS, but I checked my calendar and my last period started June 25 and ended on the 29th. It was a perfectly normal period except it usually lasts a day or 2 longer. I've not changed my eating habits, stopped or started any drugs/prescriptions, or anything like that. I DID just start school last week and am packing to move into a house this week, but I'm not too terribly stressed about it. OK maybe a little, but not much.

What else can cause such tender and swollen breasts? I'm normally a 38DD, so any adding to my size makes me feel like I'm all boob, so any help is appreciated.

lower abdomen

blood test while menstruating

I have just one quick question: is it okay to give a blood or a urine test while I am on my period?

My period started today and I was thinking of going in tomorrow for the tests, so it's not like I will have been losing that many red blood cells. But I don't want to come out as anemic or something when I'm not.

Are there any "official" rules about this?

sex causing cramps?

The last couple of times my boyfriend and I have had sex, it's caused what I can best describe as a less painful version of period cramps (almost like ovulation cramps). Has anyone ever experienced that before/is that normal? And if so, what's causing it?
