today while I was at work (Walgreens) I noticed the cranberry pills we have for UTIs.
can those pills be taken daily to minimize the chances of getting a UTI? or do you only take them when you have a UTI and want to cure it.

I am very UTI prone (just like my mom and sister) and if these can just be taken daily to reduce the chances then i'd like to give it a try :)

In female Health class the girls were talking about mysterious problems.

This girl, whom we will call girl X, said she had a bump/puss/zit type
thing on her inner theigh very close to her 'womanly parts' about the
size on a penny and that it hurt and she'd put alcohol on it and
everything and finally poked it with a needle and it had lots of puss in
it and it was bigger and felt different from any zit she ever had and
didn't feel like one. She said that even after all the puss and blood was
gone it the penny sized shape left a mark for over 4 months. She had no
problems with body acne and said it was more like a blister with greenish puss.

To be straight to the point, this post is about my masturbation troubles. Basically, posting this is my last-ditch attempt. I can't possibly tell you how much I would appreciate some response.

Et voila, le LJ cut! )

alright, i looked in the section that was dedicated to yeast infections, and neither of my questions were answered.

1) can YIs just... go away?
i was on antibiotics for a while, and i thought i got a YI. i didn't do anything about it (i was scheduled to get my license about a week after i started noticing symptoms, and i thought, i'd much rather drive myself to a doctor). so i waited, and after about 2 or 3 days it started to burn, but only in the shower when soap/water got near that area. about 5 or 6 days after i first noticed the symptoms, they were all gone. i thought it was just a false alarm and not really a YI after all. so it's been about a month now (actually almost exactly) and i feel slight itching again. it could just be skin irritation from shaving but it doesn't feel like the kind of itching that shaving produces. i'm afraid it has come back, OR never really went away.

which poses my next, more serious question...
2) assumption: if yeast infections in fact can not just "go away", and my symptoms just decided to not show for a while... then i have had it this whole time.
fact: my boyfriend "ate me out" a little under a week ago.
fact: my boyfriend is experiencing a nausious "i feel like i have to throw up but am not really going to throw up" feeling after he eats.
question(s): if i DID have a yeast infection when he did this, then could it be the reason why he is feeling this way? can consuming yeast-infected vaginal fluids make a person sick? can he get a yeast infection this way?

sorry if these questions HAVE been asked before, but they weren't in the section specifically dedicated to yeast infections. point me in the right direction if these questions are already answered.

Alright guys, heres the story. I got one shot of depo last december (9ish months ago), thats right, it was just the one....and I haven't had a period since then. I mean it's not bad or anything, I'm just getting concerned for my health. Weird stuff has been happening to me emotionally since then, but it could be a coincidence...It's almost as if I'm going through the mood swings and immaturity of puberty again, but only worse. (I'm 18 and had my first period at 12).
Can someone tell me what I can and should do here?

I have always had fairly normal periods, but this month really takes the cake as far as suckage.

This month, my period was late (prompting me to take a home pregnancy test - it was negative), and when it came, it seemed kind of heavy. I usually use the same pads for the entire duration of my cycle, and this time I experienced several leaks, so I had to switch to a different level of pad. After about 9 days I was finally through with it, but 9 days LATER I started again. I thought, sure, I'm having breakthrough bleeding or something, but nope, it's just as heavy as the first one and the blood is very dark with a strong odor.

I'm not on any birth control pills/shots now (my husband and I use condoms), and not under any more stress than usual, so I'm kind of freaked out. I called my GP, who was out of town, and the on-call doc was a moron. He told me to take an iron supplement and a pregnancy test. I told him I took one before my FIRST period of the month, it was negative, and my husband and I haven't had sex since before that one started. This was all the advice he could give me, and it seems kind of...stupid.

So I have an appointment with a female NP at Planned Parenthood this week, but I'm still freaked out. Has anyone else gone through this that can give me some comfort til I see the NP????

My boyfriend and I have been fooling around for about 5 months. We see each other about every other day and when we see each other, he usually brings me to clitoral orgasm at least twice a day. I have never had a problem with getting off, I can usually orgasm within ten to fifteen minutes. Lately, it has been taking a half hour to forty minutes to bring me to orgasm. I have been taking Birth control for about 8 weeks and I am sexually active. Its not that the orgasm is different, its the actual feeling when he is going down on me. It feels like I am numb until he get right on my clit. Could I be desinsitized? Its not that I have lost sex drive (but I did have a problem with that my first month on the pill) it just doesn't feel as good.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

hey there.

i was wondering if any of you lovely ladies could give me any first (or seccond) hand accounts of the symptoms of having an ovarian cyst? i've looked it up several places and none of them are too specific. (this comes about from me having this horrible sharp pain right above my one ovary for several weeks. i am on BC so i should not be ovulating. it has also been constant for a few weeks, so, it not very ovulation pain like)

thanks!

so i've got obnoxiously dry, peely red skin between my legs right now. i think it's from how hot and humid it's been lately. i went commando today to let things air out, and i've been moisturizing - any other suggestions to make my skin behave?
