Let me preface this by saying that this post only applies if it's definitely chafing that's causing your problems and not something like a yeast infection.

I've experienced this as a result of waxing - I think it's because the pubic hair normally cushions that region or provides a layer in between the thigh and the labia majora. I also have the same thigh chafing problem in the summer and will get the raw/tender pain between my upper thighs. It's super painful and made it impossible to wear skirts in the summer, which was really upsetting for me. I eventually found a couple of products that people use for this. One is Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel. A lot of people swear by it, but it's actually not my favorite. I find that on really hot and humid days, it only lasts me a short time because sweat makes it ineffective (the same problem I had when I tried just plain powder). It especially doesn't work if I put it on, go sit in a hot car or whatever, then get out and want to walk somewhere. The sweating I do while I'm sitting seems to make the whole area moist, which makes the power gel useless. The product that I love is called Body Glide. It's a much thicker product, and it doesn't come off with sweat - in fact, it's hard to even wash off. It's kinda like a more solid version of petroleum jelly, and it comes in a deodorant-like stick. It absolutely takes care of all my chafing problems. Both products are available on Amazon if you can't find them in your local pharmacy (or Body Glide might be available in a local running store as runners use it a lot).

Good luck finding something to take the pain away in the meantime!
