While I agree that there are plenty of people (regardless of age) who don't know comprehensive information about STIs or condoms, I don't see where natane was suggesting doctors should never bring up protection against STIs. Rather, the wording in her original post suggested she objected to being "tutted at" or otherwise negatively judged for making an informed choice not to use them.
