When your period or withdrawal bleed finishes, your body starts laying down fresh lining for the egg that could be fertilised in your new cycle. Even on hormonal BC your lining can still build. So usually you stop your Pill or remove your Ring, the lining ripens and softens so it can be shed, and your body says "EVERYTHING OUT!" and little chemical signals, prostaglandins, trigger your uterine muscles to contract to jiggle the lining free. You get your bleed which is made up of all the ripened bits of lining that have been loosened by the cramping. But, if you stack BC the lining keeps on building up. When it is finally bleedy time it can be harder to break-up the thick layer that's settled, and you can get bigger than normal lumps of lining coming out. Perfectly normal, even if they are a complete pain to pass. I used to get them with every period before my Mirena. My desk at my old workplace even had teeth-marks in the wood from me biting down to stop screaming heheh. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen to you again!
