make sure you shave in the direction of hair growth. it won't be quite as perfectly smooth a shave, but it reduces your odds of ingrown hairs. i use a silicone-based shave lotion called Coochy that i buy at the local Condoms To Go store or from a friend who is a Pure Romance rep. (like Tupperware, but they sell sex stuff). after i finish shaving and get out of the bath/shower, i wait a few minutes for my pores to close and then i swipe the area with a mild astringent. that helps prevent the red bumps/white heads. i can't put cocoa butter on my bikini line, because it clogs my pores and makes the breakouts worse, but ymmv. i use just a dab of the shave lotion as a moisturizer, and that works well for me.
