You'll probably know to do this anyway, but it's the one warning I didn't heed, so... If you get your tongue pierced... whether they emphasize it a lot or not, they are very serious about keeping ice and other very cold things in your mouth, almost all the time. I didn't listen because they didn't tell me exactly how important it was, so my tongue swelled up so badly that I could barely fit anything in my mouth (much less chew without biting my already very painful tongue), and had to go back to the piercer and get the longest barbell known to man put in my mouth to accommodate the swelling. Long personal anecdote over. Ice is good. Slushies are good. Extremely swollen tongues are very, very bad. -amy!
