weed and bc

My PCP and I began discussing starting me on birth control to help manage pms/menstrual symptoms associated with endometriosis.  She wants me to quit smoking (tobacco) for the obvious clotting risk factors.  The only other substance I use with any regularity would be pot, so I was wondering if there are similar contraindications associated with weed and birth control.  As of now we haven't discussed exactly what bc we might start with.  I understand that my doctor would be the best person to ask about this, but I know right now she's just going to say something to the effect of you should just stop anyway.  I've found conflicting info online, and very little of it seems reliable.
