Due to other birth control issues, the IUD is the only option available to me beside barrier methods (Paraguard, the only non hormonal one available in the US). however, when I went to get the IUD, my uterus only sounded to 5cm. It has to be at least 6cm to get the IUD , and average size in women who have not had a child is 7cm.

I read somewhere (I think) that hormonal birth control can thicken the lining of the uterus, could this cause a smaller sounding? If so, would going off that hormonal birth control change the size and/or sounding of the uterus?
