To my knowledge, yeast infections have nothing to do with intake of food yeasts (i.e. bread). Yeast infections are caused by a specific type of yeast, candida albicans, that is naturally found in moist places on the body. The type used in baking is a completely different type of yeast.
Sometimes, if the natural pH of that area changes -- if it becomes less acidic -- that allows the candida to grow out of control, causing a yeast infection. Among the dietary things that can cause that are an increase in sugar or in products containing sugar (i.e. some lubes and soaps) to be applied to the vulva or other areas where candida grows.
Anyway, your symptoms definitely do sound consistent with an external YI -- I've gotten YIs under my clitoral hood before, and they are no fun at all. Check our YI Vulvapedia entry (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=Yeast_Infection) for an idea of some topical remedies that can work to reacidify the area and kill the infection -- among them, over-the-counter creams (like Monistat) and plain yogurt with acidophilus.
