yeast infection

so on the 21st i went in for a pap smear. .and everything was all fine until the doctor's office called me back and told me i had a yeast infection. .i was. .pretty confused :/ i had no idea i mean i didn't notice any itching or unusual discharge. .they didn't tell me until about a week later. .and they prescribed fluconazole for it. .i only had to take one pill. .how am i supposed to know if the yeast infections gone or not if i don't have any symptoms? i mean i've have been having more discharge and everything. .but i don't know. i assume it should have cleared up by now. .also four days after i had protected sex. .:/ is there a possibility i made it worse?
