Hey Everyone,
First off, I wanna thank you guys for being here. This is a great community to go to when you want straight-forward and not dismissive answers.
I'm currently pregnant with my 2nd child, I'm about 20/21 weeks now (my son is 2 years old) and I feel like I have forgotten what it's like to be pregnant.
I have been tested for std's in 2004 (when I had vaginal issues), 2005 (for my first pregnancy) and in 2007 (for this pregnancy). All my testing came up with normal pap's plus negatives for all std/sti's.
When I was at the doc's office in Dec, we went over the results and she mentioned there were "yeasties" though. I figured at much from the slight burning sensation I would feel around my labia, but I also was currently wearing tight clothing and sans underwear. Well, I made sure I picked up cotton panties and have begun to wear baggy pants to help out.
I didn't get any over-counter meds because when I had tried them, they were a pain due to my tipped uterus so I would eat yogurt (*shudders* I really hate yogurt) and my period seemed to take care of everything when my pH balance would raise for that week. Well, that isn't happening now! *LOL*
I still have the slightly burning sensation, itchy sensation - my vaginal discharge is between clear-milky-buttery whitish colors (which I always thought typical for me growing up). I guess I'm just
1) Paranoid on using the over-the-counter meds because of my baby
2) Paranoid in the accuracy of my sti/std testing (I made the booboo of going online and saw Gonorrhea has the same syptoms as YI, which promptly freaked me out).
I'm also pretty anxious lately which my doctor is chalking up to being pregnant. Should I suck it up and take the over the counter meds? My doctor told me that I shouldnt worry on the accuracy of my testing because they did NAAT testing, which she says is 95% accuracte comparative to the older testing.
Help Please?
