Vibrators and Chemical Reactions

I read the instructions the vibe I've had for a while (the brand is "Shane's World" by California Exotic Novelties), and they said not to put my vibe near other thigns that would cause a chemical reaction.

That made me wonder, should I be putting this thing on my clit? I don't want to poison my vag. I do like it, it's very quiet and gives me decent orgasms (although I use to finsih myself off, since the batteries wear down fast otherwise. It takes 3 watch batteries.

I figured maybe I should get a new vibrator. I though about the Hitachi, but I want something that my roomie won't hear. I heard the Hitachi is noisy. Is this true? So anyone have any recomendations for a quiet clitoral stimulator?

BTW, LJ keeps on telling me I'm not allowed to post tags. Why not? I wanted to put sex-toys and vibrators.

Do you know what type of material your toy is made of? I know that most silicone toys are not supposed to be used with silicone lube because it can cause the solid silicone of the toy to break down, but silicone toys are quite safe.

I have found this handy guide (http://www.babeland.com/shoppingadvice/sextoymaterials) from the Babeland website (http://www.babeland.com) to be very helpful in deciding what type of materials I feel comfortable having near my clit and vulva.

Whether or not you decide that you want to keep using your current vibe, if you're looking for a quiet toy for clit stimulation, you might want to consider a bullet vibe (http://www.babeland.com/shoppingadvice/sextoymaterials). I have one of these and I love it! It is fairly quiet, too.

I have also heard really good things about the Layaspot (http://www.smittenkittenonline.com/Products/LayaSpot_1429.cfm). I have looked at/played with one in a store -- it seemed pretty quiet there, but sometimes things that sound quiet in a retail space can sound somewhat louder in a quiet room. I am actually going to buy one later this weekend, though, so I will soon have a better idea of how much noise they make. :)

Can you make a post or something about what you think about the Layaspot, please? I am really interested to know what your experience with it is... especially how powerful and quiet it is. And I'm sure other ladies and gents would be interested to know as well.

I think that's an awesome idea, and I would be happy to do so. I will probably post it over in the Sex & Sexuality (http://forums.vaginapagina.com/viewforum.php?f=14) section of the VP.com forums, but I will post a link here when I do. :)

It took me quite a while, but I finally got my hands on a LAYAspot! If you're still curious, you can read the review I wrote here (http://forums.vaginapagina.com/viewtopic.php?p=776). :)

Oh wow. Thanks so much! I'm definitely going to check out the LAYAspot. I'm such a big fan of clitoral stimulation, way more than penetration so this review was super helpful.

Does it smell like a brand-new shower curtain? If so, it probably has some polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in it, which some studies have shown to be potentially harmful. Whatever it's made of, if you're worried about it being harmful, you could put a condom over it when you use it. :)

I believe that the Layaspot is pretty widely available. You could always call your local sex shop -- if they don't stock it, they may be able to recommend a similar vibe that they do carry.

Good luck with your shopping!
